Beautiful Crawl Space Encapsulation in Surf City, NJ

Challenge

A homeowner living in Surf City, NJ contacted Quality 1st Basements in reference to their nasty and wet crawl space. The area had a lot of moisture from the water seepage and humidity from the crawl space vents and doors not being properly sealed. They had an existing sump pump in their crawl space that had failed and needed to be replaced. Each time it rained, water would seep in through the floor and corner sections of the crawl space. That standing water over time caused the crawl space to become a very damp and cold space. Overall, the space was unhealthy causing poor air quality and brought great concern to the homeowner and so they wanted a solution as soon as possible.

Solution

Senior Design Specialist, Jeff, did a full inspection of this crawl space and recommended a full Encapsulation System to keep the crawl space area dry and moisture free. Encapsulating the crawl space will prevent water, mold, and pests from entering the crawl space, therefore, protecting the crawl space structure.

With the help of Jeff, Forman Wilver, and his team were able to fully waterproof the crawl space, completely transforming the nasty, dirt crawl space into a clean and dry area that could now be used for storage. The crew installed Drainage Matting and Clean Space Vapor Barrier to prevent water leaks and flooding. A Smart Sump Pump with a built-in alarm system was installed next to keep the crawl space dry by pumping any water seepage out. A SaniDry Dehumidifier was recommended to prevent any musty odors from ever forming. To seal the crawl space, an EverLast Crawl Space door was installed to still allow easy access yet prevent moisture, water, and pests from getting inside. IceGuard was installed on the outside as an alternative exit for any water in case the discharge pipe was to freeze. This will prevent a backflow of water, therefore keeping it dry.

The homeowner was amazed at the work done by Wilver and his team, working all day to complete the job. They appreciated how professional and hardworking each team member was. Wilver and his crew completely transformed this damp and nasty crawl space into a beautiful space. The homeowner would be 100% satisfied and relieved that they know how a permanent solution.

Nasty and damp Crawl Space!

CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System was installed to the walls and floor of the crawl space to prevent water and mold. Clean Space is a strong, bright white liner, that prevents moisture therefore keep the area dry and protecting the crawl space structure from any damage. SaniDry dehumidifier will properly pump dry air throughout to prevent moisture and musty odors.
