Damp Crawl Space Repair in the Bronx, NY

This homeowner in the Bronx, New York reported their crawl space was developing mold growth and musty smells. This can often happen in dirt crawl spaces that are exposed to the earth's elements. Dirt and soil hold a lot of moisture, which eventually turns into water vapor that rises into the air. If this goes without repair, this can cause many issues such as rotting wood, smelly carpets, increased energy bills, and even pests!

Solution

The homeowner did not want this issue to go without repair, so they contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems after finding us online. We sent our System Design Specialist, Javier R, to provide a thorough inspection of the crawl space. Javier noticed the water seepage and musty smell, and he suggested they seal the space from the earth's elements. Our foreman Luis, arrived to install our Drainage Matting and CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System. This is done by removing any dirt and debris, leveling uneven surfaces, and fitting the drainage matting and CleanSpace into the crawl space. Drainage matting is installed as the first layer, and it will catch any water that seeps in and drain it away. CleanSpace is a mold-proof and durable liner that will prevent moisture and humidity from entering the crawl space. When the job was complete, the homeowner was happy to finally have a dry and healthy crawl space!
