PolyLEVEL saves leaky basement
Challenge
A Staten Island homeowner could not resolve her flooding basement problems. The reoccurring water issues were causing serious damage to her property, and settling cement walkways create pooling problems as well. Quality 1st Basement Systems inspector discovered pooling water on the basement floor, in addition to dampness and leakage at the floor wall joints around the perimeter. The cement walkways had settled nearly 3 inches, which was adding to the leaky basement issues by drawing water towards the home’s foundation instead of protecting it.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems had the right solutions for this NY homeowner and her wet basement! The crew used PolyLEVEL to lift the concrete walkways back to their original position, which will keep water away from the home’s foundation. PolyLEVEL is a form of concrete leveling; this treatment injects high density polymers through tiny holes drilled into the concrete, and it cures in minutes, thus leaving the solution both functional and aesthetically pleasant.
The crew installed a WaterGuard to drain any water from the floor wall joints, as well as a TripleSafe sump pump system to ensure the problem would never reoccur. The slab joints were then grouted. They also installed an IceGuard to protect the drainage pipes from freezing, preventing any reasons for system failures during cold winter months. Now this Staten Island homeowner has a waterproofed basement that will remain dry, no matter the weather, and cement walkways that are functional.
