Patio Leveling in Washington, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Washington, NJ contacted us when they became concerned of the settling of their concrete back patio. The concrete slabs of their outdoor space were experiencing the normal wear and tear of varying weather conditions which ultimately left the concrete out of place. With heavy rains and dry periods, the soil underneath concrete slabs may erode away or shift in such a way that causes the concrete to sink. When these concrete slabs are supposed to support heavy traffic, such as being used as an entertainment space like this patio, the consequences of sinking slabs present hazards that only escalate with time. The homeowner did the right thing by calling our team to help fix this issue.
Solution
Upon inspection, our System Design Specialist Nelson was able to assess the unlevel patio and provide the homeowner with a free quote as to how we could be of service. To raise this concrete and make the outdoor space safe, we determined that our PolyLevel Foam would need to be injected beneath the slabs to raise them. Our Foreman Ash and crew arrived on site to install this effective and preventative solution. The Polylevel Foam is injected through small holes in the concrete slabs where it expands and dries beneath the slabs, slowly raising them back to level. This foam is strong, safe, and water resistant so it will not erode away with the weather and it will not release any dangerous chemicals into the soil. To seal the slabs together and give a clean finish, our NexusPro was used in between the joints of the concrete slabs. With these two materials at work, this patio looks new again and can be enjoyed by family and friends in the way it was meant to.
