Concrete Driveway Renovation In Manahawkin, NJ
Challenge
We assisted a homeowner, residing in Manahawkin, NJ, who faced ongoing issues with their front driveway. Over the years, the driveway had experienced significant settlement problems, resulting in noticeable cracks, uneven surfaces, and potentially fatal safety hazards.
The appearance of the driveway had deteriorated, affecting the curb appeal of the home and potentially lowering its market value.
The homeowner initially tried various methods to mitigate the problem, including filling cracks and using patching compounds. However, these solutions only provided temporary relief and did not address the underlying issue of soil compaction and settlement.
After researching various repair options, the homeowner reached out to Quality 1st, a company specializing in foundation and concrete repair.
Solution
A thorough inspection by our system design specialist Phil, revealed that the primary cause of the driveway settlement issues were soil compression and inadequate support beneath the concrete slab.
After this detailed inspection was conducted to assess the extent of settlement and the condition of the soil underneath the driveway, our foreman Ash and his crew began the first steps to install our high performance PolyLevel Foam Injections.
They began taking measurements to determine the necessary amount of foam needed for effective lifting and stabilization.
Then small, strategically placed holes were drilled into the surface of the driveway. These holes, typically about the size of a quarter, were used to insert the injection equipment.
The PolyLevel foam, a lightweight and expanding polyurethane based material, was injected through these holes. As the foam expanded, it filled in voids from poorly compressed soil and lifted the concrete slabs back to their original leveled position.
After the injection process, the holes were patched and blended with the surrounding surface to restore the driveways appearance. The foam quickly cured, allowing the driveway to be used almost immediately.
The implementation of PolyLevel Foam Injections yielded significant improvements, the driveway was lifted and leveled, effectively eliminating the cracks and low spots. Water no longer pooled in problematic areas, enhancing both functionality and safety.
With the surface restored to a level condition, tripping hazards were fully removed, and the driveway became increasingly safer for daily use. It was evident that the driveways appearance improved dramatically, which contributed positively to the overall curb appeal of the property.
The PolyLevel foam provided a durable and stable foundation, reducing the likelihood of future settlement issues. The foam’s resistance to moisture and environmental elements ensured long-term effectiveness.
The use of PolyLevel Foam Injections by Quality 1st proved to be a highly effective solution for the homeowner’s driveway settlement issues. By addressing both the immediate cosmetic concerns and the underlying structural problems, the repair not only restored the driveways functionality and safety but also enhanced the overall value of the home. The success of this project demonstrates the efficacy of advanced concrete lifting technologies in resolving persistent settlement problems and underscores the importance of seeking professional intervention for comprehensive and lasting repairs.
