Basement Waterproofing Solution in Keyport, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Keyport, NJ, reached out to our team at Quality 1st Basement Systems after struggling with a persistent waterproofing problem in their basement. Despite their efforts to resolve the issue, the basement remained damp, and the musty odor was a constant nuisance. The homeowner was understandably frustrated, as the ongoing moisture problems affected their living space and created a less-than-ideal environment for their family. Concerned about the long-term effects on the home’s foundation and air quality, the homeowner sought a reliable and effective solution.
Solution
After the homeowner reached out, Quality 1st Basement Systems quickly set up an inspection to evaluate the basement's condition. One of the company’s experienced System Design Specialists, Dane, conducted a thorough assessment of the basement and determined that a comprehensive waterproofing solution was required to solve the moisture problem effectively.
The recommended solution consisted of three primary components:
-
WaterGuard Interior Drainage System: The first step was to install the WaterGuard drainage system along the perimeter of the basement. This system was designed to intercept water before it could pool on the floor, capturing it and directing it towards the sump pump. The WaterGuard system ensured water would be diverted away from the basement, keeping the space dry and preventing further moisture accumulation.
-
TripleSafe Sump Pump: To efficiently manage and remove the water collected by WaterGuard, the TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed. This sump pump is equipped with three levels of protection, ensuring the basement stays dry even during heavy rainfall or extreme weather conditions. The TripleSafe system is designed to be reliable, offering peace of mind that water will be effectively pumped out of the basement without fail.
-
CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier: To prevent moisture from seeping through the walls and to combat the musty odor that had been present, CleanSpace, a high-quality vapor barrier, was applied to the basement walls. This liner not only provided an extra layer of moisture protection but also transformed the atmosphere of the basement, making it cleaner, drier, and more comfortable.
Once the homeowner approved the plan, Quality 1st Basement Systems’ skilled production team got to work. The foreman, Wilver, and installation team worked with precision and care, ensuring each component of the system was installed correctly and efficiently. The WaterGuard system was placed along the perimeter, the TripleSafe Sump Pump was set up to handle water evacuation, and CleanSpace was applied to the walls, completing the waterproofing process.
