A homeowner in Maplewood, NJ, reached out to us at Quality 1st Basement Systems with concerns about their crawl space. They were dealing with high humidity levels and visible debris buildup, and they requested the installation of a vapor barrier to mitigate moisture problems. During the scheduled home inspection, our experienced System Design Specialist, Ron, performed a thorough evaluation of the crawl space. The findings revealed excessive moisture that posed serious risks such as mold growth, wood rot, and increased energy costs. The homeowner needed a comprehensive solution to address both the immediate and long-term consequences of a damp crawl space environment.

Solution

With a clear understanding of the issues at hand, the Quality 1st Basement Systems production team got to work. The first step was a full cleanup of the crawl space, clearing out all debris to prepare for a clean and effective installation process.

To tackle the persistent moisture, we installed our CleanSpace liner, a durable 20-mil vapor barrier specifically engineered to block out humidity and protect the space from mold and mildew.
