Concrete Raising in Lake Hiawatha, NJ
Challenge
The owner of this Lake Hiawatha, NJ home contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems because he had two sinking concrete slabs. One of the sinking slabs was in his sun room, and the other slab was the concrete slab that was underneath his hot tub. Collin Peare inspected the property and moved the furniture away from the walls to get a better look at the uneven concrete slabs. Collin saw that the first row of tile was completely separated from the second row by about an inch. He also inspected the hot tub area, and observed that the concrete slab was sinking towards the sun room. This slab had also dropped one inch which caused the hot tub to be unlevel.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems installed PolyLEVEL concrete raising system in the home to repair the concrete slabs. The PolyLEVEL system is a state of the art approach to repairing sinking concrete slabs. It combines the original concept of mudjacking, but combines it with modern knowledge and technology making it more efficient and a better solution. Rather than using a mixture of concrete and mud, PolyLEVEL is a high densitiy polyurethane foam that raises concrete slabs back to the desiered level.
PolyLEVEL was installed by drilling very small (much smaller than mudjacking) holes in the slab. Next, the injection port was inserted into the penny size hole, and the lightweight foam was injected into the slab and expands. The expansion of the foam allowed for an accurate life and leveling of the concrete slabs. The holes were then grouted and sealed, and the slabs were both completely level! Not only does this homeowner have a safer home, but his now even slabs even come with a warranty that they will not move!
