Midyear Meeting at Jersey Shore Hotel
Teamwork and service were the key points at Quality 1st Basement Systems’ midyear meeting at a beautiful Jersey shore hotel. Every employee from Quality 1st Basement Systems attended at the White Sands hotel in Point Pleasant – a busing service was provided to transport people to the venue, located right on a sandy beach. A lunch buffet was served at the hotel restaurant, Argula. All employees received a gift bag with a Quality 1st Basement Systems polo and some snacks for the meeting.
The midyear meeting was hosted in a spacious hall. A PowerPoint showed photos and videos of all the workers together at conventions, the office, and company parties. Guest speaker Michael Mendillo, President of FirstService Residential, gave a passionate speech about the importance of service, customer appreciation, and leadership. He stressed the significance of treating each customer with individual attention and respect, and that often going an extra inch turns good service into excellent service.
Michael Mendillo shared a story about giving a customer’s daughter a gift certificate to McDonald’s, and now he receives a yearly Christmas card from them. Just one customer’s word-of-mouth can go out to as many as nine different people, so it is important to make sure every customer has a positive experience.
Quality 1st Basement Systems gave out awards of service to employees who have been with the company ten years or longer. The Cliffwood, NJ office will soon be the home of these awards for everyone to see. Employees who have been with the company for five years or more were personally thanked, and all new 2014 employees were introduced. Highlights of each department were listed, and individual employees were commended for their work with the team, and for going above and beyond their goals. The company standings for the midyear were revealed, and Quality 1st is well ahead of their goals and on the way to making record breaking numbers.
During the meeting, speakers addressed the wow factor, and the importance of servicing each customer as if they were as close as family. Goals for 2016 were unveiled, and the team strives to help service more homes, waterproof more basements, deliver more concrete and give more clients the wow factor. Owner Tom Roman gave a speech about watching the company grow from a small group of people working out of trailer to a large company that services a wide area. “I do all of this for my wife”, he said. After the meeting, a cocktail hour was held and spirits were high as the company focused on their goals for the rest of 2015 with renewed excitement.
