Aberdeen's 9/11 Memorial
A somber piece of history arrived at the offices of Quality 1st Basement Systems in Cliffwood.
This 147 pound, “I” shaped steel artifact came from one of the World Trade Center buildings destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. This piece of steel was given to the township of Aberdeen in November 2011 after Mayor Fred Tagliarini learned towns could request to receive a piece of towers.
Quality 1st will now create a permanent structure for the piece so it can be viewed by residents and visitors to Aberdeen township.
Owner of Quality 1st, Tom Roman, said, “As a former volunteer fireman, I’m honored Quality 1st Basement Systems can be involved in creating this 9/11 memorial.
By donating the resources and skills necessary to create the structure, it’s my hope that this piece of history can give the survivors, family members of those we lost, and the entire community a place where they can come to pay their respects and remember.”
Check back soon to see the final memorial.
