A Hero Lives Here: Charles Sona
Sometimes you meet someone who puts things into perspective and Quality 1st recently met such a person. Charles Sona is a WWII veteran and longtime Howell resident who served as a a “Seabee,” a member of the Navy’s construction battalions. Now 90, Mr. Sona fought in the Pacific theater in 1943 and 1944 before getting “blown up” during the Battle of Hollandia in New Guinea. He suffered devastating injuries and after months in the hospital, was discharged to go home with little to no thanks for his sacrifices.
Our Leadership Team honored this American Hero last Friday, August 24th by coming together and installing an American Flag Pole on his Property to thank him for all his years of service to keep our shores safe. By starting the "A Hero Lives Here" Program we hope to show our gratitiude to other WWII veterans in our Hometowns and neighboring communities as well.
