Quality 1st Basement Systems at Convention 2012

Over 300 hours of training in 3 days, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.  Quality 1st Basement Systems attended the annual Basement Systems Convention in Connecticut August 16-19 and this year was the best one yet.

Thursday, the 16th, was a group session day which started with a presentation by visiting staff members at Google.  What was the first thing they wanted to recognize?  This recent Google review of foreman Victor Leon, which garnered a round of applause from the audience of owners and general managers from other Basement Systems dealers!  

Next up was a presentation by the people who run the Treehouse, Basement Systems' internet marketing department.  Who did they happen to feature again, right away?  Quality 1st! To demonstrate our great new Meet the Team section, Ken Peare's profile was pulled up for the audience to see the great jobs, referrals and blogs he has contributed to our company.

After a day of seminars, the keynote address by author Andy Andrews was given on Friday night along with the Basement Systems awards ceremony.  After several years hanging out in the number 3 spot, this year Quality 1st Basement Systems dealer was proud to accept the award for Number 2 Basement Systems Dealer!  In addition to this high honor, we were given awards for our work with Foundation Supportworks and Cleanspace as well as one for our in-house marketing program.

Friday and Saturday consisted of seperate class schedules for each of the team members with us, which included our entire sales team and many of our production foreman and apprentices.  Employees took classes ranging from how to hire salesmen to how to properly listen to and review incoming calls to ensure our high standards are maintained for every lead generated.  Friday night all employees were able to compare notes as we went out for a group dinner to celebrate our awards from the previous night.

Saturday evening, after the last day of classes, was what many of our team looked forward to the most...the party!  This year's theme was Hollywood and while Quality 1st kept it low-key, many other dealers chose to attend in great group costumes.  One office even had all staff members dress as characters from the Harry Potter books!

Overall, the convention was a great opportunity to learn new skills, refine old skills and invigorate our team for the year to come.  Now that we're number 2...we want that number 1 spot!
