Quality 1st President inducted into the Aberdeen Economic Business Council
Recently we received a copy of Community Magazine for Aberdeen, Hazlet, Keyport, and Matawan New Jersey for March 2013. It included an article titled "Aberdeen Economic Business Council Names Two New Members." One of the members including Quality 1st Basement Systems President Thomas W. Roman.

The Aberdeen Economic Business Council (EBC) announced the appointment of two local businessmen to the Township Advisory board at it's February 11 meeting. Tom Roman of Quality 1st Contracting,and Steve Marcinkiewicz of PNC Bank, who was also elected by the group to serve as Treasurer. They were appointed to fill positions vacated by Barbara Fischer of Columbia Bank and Michael Ali of Livoti's. Romans is the principal of Quality 1st Contracting, a firm that is in the process of relocating from Perth Amboy to the former 84 Lumber site on Route 35. Marcinkiewicz is vice president and manager of the newly-opened PNC branch a Lloyd Road and Route 34.
"We all look forward to working with Tom and Steven on making our council even stronger than what it is today," said Charmine S. Visone, who was reelected chairman of the EBC at the groups January meeting.
Roman and Marcinkieweicz join current EBC member Jason Bigelow, Advanced Tire and Auto Center; Eugene DeMarco, DeMarco's Italian Bakery; Luigi Falco, Fun Time America; Arthur Hirsch, Snap Fitness; Maxine Rescorl, Aberdeen Township Zoning Officer; Melanie Staniero, Flowers by Melanie; and Visone of Home Away from Home Academy.
In addition to welcoming the two new members, the meeting featured, a presentation by Ron DeLuca executive vic president at retail real estate brokerage R.J. Brunelli and Co. DeLuca discussed the state of retail real estate in Aberdeen and surrounding communities, future development opportunities and steps the EBC and Township can take to help landlords fill vacancies in existing properties. The meeting also included updates by council members on the EBC's plans for Aberdeen Day 2013 events outside of the primary venue at the high school, including the Aberdeen's Got Talent Contest. Additionally, the group began the process of establishing a database of all Aberdeen businesses that can be used by the EBC, police and fire departments, and the Township's government.
The Aberdeen Economic Business Council was formed in 2012 to improve relations with the business community, explore opportunities for new commercial or industrial development and help attract new businesses to town.
