In the basement of this Woodbury, NJ home, cracks and bowing in the walls were clear signs of foundation failure. The homeowner recognized the risks that come with ignoring a failing foundation, so they reached out to Quality 1st for a reliable solution. Our System Design Specialist Anthony went out to the home for a free estimate of a repair design for the home. Once approved, our Foreman and crew came out to install the support system. To resolve the bowing and cracking walls, we installed two different wall support systems: our CarbonArmor Reinforcing System and our PowerBrace Repair System. CarbonArmor is bonded to the foundation walls to stabilize it, while PowerBrace steel beams strengthen the walls with the chance of returning them to their straight positions. Both systems had minimal disruption on the home and are permanent solutions to the faulty foundation.

Signs of Foundation Damage

The cracking in the cinderblock foundation and the gaps between the stairs and the wall are clear indications that this foundation was unstable and beginning to fail.

CarbonArmor Support

The flexible CarbonArmor straps are bonded to the foundation walls with a powerful epoxy resin. These straps stabilize foundation walls, preventing them from bowing or cracking any further.

PowerBrace Support

PowerBrace beams are made of steel and are secured to the floor joists above with steel brackets. This system can be tightened with an attempt to restore the wall to its original position.
