Challenge

Valvoline Instant Oil Change located in Old Bridge Township, NJ was experiencing water intrusion in the basement of their building. Every time it rained, the basement would fill with up to a foot of water creating a damp and cold environment in the basement. Over time, a musty odor started to form. The water issue needed to be fixed right away to prevent the store from having to temporarily close if teh basement continued to flood everytime it rained. He needed a company that could provide a permanent solution right away before the basement had any more water. The store manager contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems to provide a solution that would keep the basement healthy and dry. Customer Service Representative, Shatira Lee, was able to schedule an appointment right away to have System Design Specialist, Kenny Tramutola out to inspect the basement and design a system that would provide a permanent solution.

Solution

Kenny did a full inspection of the basement and suggested a WaterGuard Drainage System and two Triple Safe Sump Pumps. After Kenny provided a very detailed explanation for his suggestions, the store manager agreed to the installation and received a start date right on the spot. The Project Manager and his team did a full walk through of the basement to make sure the area was cleared and ready for the installation. Once the area was prepped, the crew began excavating the floor to install the WaterGuard Drainage Systems. Once installed, the WaterGuard is covered with gravel and then sealed with cement. The WaterGuard collects any water seeping through the foundation wall and directs it over to the TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe is the top of the line sump pump system which provides three levels of protection. The first level is the normal function that has a powerful, cast iron Zoeller 1/3 horsepower sump pump. The second level contains a more powerful Zoeller 1/2 hp pump that is set higher inside the liner that will take over if there is an increase in water. If there is a power outage, the UltraSump Battery back up sump pump will go into its highest level which is capable of pumping up to 11,500 gallons of water. The store manager was relieved that the crew was able to do the installation all while keeping the business open. The basement is now fully waterproofed and will stay dry no matter how much it rains.
