Basement Waterproofing in East Brunswick, NJ
Challenge
Susan contacted Quality 1st Basements after noticing puddles of water forming in her basement after heavy rain storms. She wanted a permanent solution that would give her peace of mind when it rained. System Design Specialist, Kenny T., went out to inspect the basement and a design a solution for the water leakage. Kenny noticed two corners in the basement were not only damp but had water marks along the walls. He explained to the Susan that right now most of the water was seeping through these two sections of the basement. He recommended for complete protection, a full perimeter waterproofing drainage system. This would protect the entire basement from flooding.
When water no longer can enter through an opening it continues to flow until it finds its next way in, by installing our WaterGuard Drainage System this will keep the entire basement dry. He also suggested a TripleSafe Sump Pump would be the best pump to keep her size of a basement dry. Our TripleSafe Sump Pump not only has three pumps inside to handle different levels of water but also a strong liner to protect each pump against damage. An airtight lid seals the water vapor inside to prevent water from evaporating into the basement air and an alarm to notify Susan of a malfunction during a natural disaster such as a hurricane.
Solution
On installation day, our team lead by Wilver C. began prepping the basement for the waterproofing installation. Our WaterGuard drain is installed above the footing of the foundation out of the "mud zone" to prevent clogging to the drain. Gravel and concrete are then laid down over the WaterGuard for protection and to keep it hidden. Next, the TripleSafe Sump Pump is installed where the WaterGuard is connected too. Both products collect and direct the water from the wall to the sump pump and then out of the basement. On the outside of the foundation, our team installed IceGuard which is an alternative exit for water flowing out of the basement if the pipes are frozen in the ground blocking the way. Kenny T. also suggested protecting the water heater by installing the TrenchDrain Grated Draining Pipe. The grated opening of this system is designed to accept water from the floor, where it's then redirected to your perimeter drain and your sump pump.
Quality 1st Basements was able to provide complete protection against water. Now Susan has peace of mind that her basement will never have water damage and no mold will ever grow, keeping her family and her home healthy and safe.
