Basement Waterproofing - East Orange, NJ

Challenge

This home was a typical older home with a stone and mortar foundation which over the years began to allow moisture, then water thru the joints.  Over time patching repairs and paints were applied to slow the moisture and water.  These repairs also failed over time.  The homeowner wanted to fix the problem and fix it right.  

Solution

After investigating the areas of concern and speaking with the customers out System Design Specialist worked with the customer to design a repair to meet their needs.  It was determined that an outside remedy would be too disruptive and not very cost effective.  The final solution was the patented WaterGuard system which is a subfloor basement waterproofing system designed to be used in this application and give the homeowner a lifetime warranty which can be transferred with the home.  To address the water through the walls we selected the CleanSpace vapor barrier to be installed on the walls.  This provides the solution to the leaky and damp walls, as well as provides a nice neat clean look.  The clean space and water guard also allows this homeowner or the next to comfortably finish their basement in the future.  The WaterGuard system is tied into the Super Sump pump system with a sealed air tight lid.  This is one of the best sump systems on the market.  It can be upgraded to add a batter back up should the customer want to in the future.
