Basement Waterproof Installation in Brick, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Brick, New Jersey was experiencing humidity and moisture getting into their basement. This can happen because the soil around the foundation becomes saturated during heavy rainfall. Over time, this soil creates hydrostatic pressure which causes water to push through the foundation walls and floors. A wet basement can have many negative effects such as dust mites, pests, musty smells, increased energy bills, and even mold growth.
Solution
Looking for a solution, the homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our customer service representative was able to book them an appointment with our System Design Specialist, Mike DelleChiaie. Mike provided an inspection of the home and suggested they waterproof the basement. Our foreman, Esau Aquino, installed the WaterGuard Drain System along the perimeter of the basement floor. This system is placed on top of the foundation footing to be kept out of the mud zone. WaterGuard will collect water and drain it to the sump pump. Next, Esau installed the SuperSump Classic Pump System which will effectively pump water out of the basement. This system comes with a battery-operated backup pump that will kick in if the power goes out. With these systems in place, the homeowner does not have to worry about water intrusion in their basement.
