Basement Waterproofing in Bronx, NY
Challenge
Quality 1st Basement Systems received a phone call from a homeowner in the Bronx, NY about a water concern. The homeowner had been experiencing water seepage in their basement. The homeowner explained water seeping into their basement and creating puddles in the corners. They tried to figure out the situation but unfortunately did not succeed. However, they did the right thing to contact a professional as soon as possible, rather than prolonging the problem. Water seepage is a common, yet one of the worst problems that homes can develop. It can lead to numerous problems including structural damage to the basement walls, floods and puddles, dampness, humidity, mold, and other issues. After speaking with a customer service representative, the homeowner scheduled an appointment with our System Design Specialist, Jeff N. Jeff arrived at the home, on time, and inspected the basement. Jeff noticed small cracks within the basement walls, causing water to seep into the basement. Luckily, the cracks were not serious enough to be repaired, so Jeff suggested the basement be fully waterproofed. Within the next few days, our crew installed our basement waterproofing system.
Solution
Once our crew arrived at the home, on time, they began to install our basement waterproofing system. Our crew first installed the WaterGuard French Drain System, which is designed to collect water seeping through the basement. Unlike other French drain systems, WaterGuard is installed on top of the foundation footing, above the "mud zone," so it will not clog with dirt or rocks. Next, our crew installed the Triple Safe Sump Pump System, which will pump the water away from the basement. The Triple Safe Sump Pump provides three levels of protection, including a backup battery, in case of a power outage, a backup sump, in case the previous one stops functioning, and an alarm to alert the homeowner when the system needs to be manually drained out. Once both systems have been installed, our crew did a final clean-up before completing the job. Since the installation, the homeowner has not had any water issues in their basement, and it continues to stay dry and protected all year round. They have been satisfied since, and Quality 1st Basement Systems was able to help out another homeowner!
