Wet Basement in Staten Island
Challenge
Staten Island homeowners had water coming into their basement through the floor. The homeowners also complained of a damp and musty-smelling basement. Upon inspection, a System Design Specialist noticed that the the sump pit was almost completely full of water. It was also noted that there was water penetration through the floor wall joint and walls.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems installed a full perimeter WaterGuard basement waterproofing system. WaterGuard will keep the entire basement dry. WaterGuard sits on top of the footing which means it will not clog. WaterGuard also has a small space between the floor and the wall to drain the incoming water from the walls and large holes that drain the water to the TripleSafe sump pump. TripleSafe is composed of three separate pump areas inside of one pump ensuring that the sump will never fail this Staten Island basement. The third pump is battery powered which means that it will continue to operate even when the power goes out.
Also installed was the SaniDry basement dehumidification system. Because of the damp, musty smell of the basement, Quality 1st Basement Systems recommended the SaniDry system. The SaniDry XP is a high-capacity, high-efficiency system which will purity and dry the basement air. The SaniDry is powerful enough to dry and circulate all of the air in the basement. Compared to other dehumidifiers who cannot service an entire basement space, the SaniDry is the perfect solution. Now this basement is clean and dry!
