Basement Waterproofing in Belmar
Challenge
Belmar couple were planning to sell their home but knew that they had to deal with the basement's water issues beforehand. A wet basement will decrease the value of a home, and they did not want to take any chances. There was a constant feeling of dampness and moisture in the basement. The moisture was causing issues with the flooring which seemed to be deteriorating. There was also efflourescence on the walls which would be a turnoff to any potential buyer. The homeowners wanted the right solution so that the basement would be a usable space for the future homeowners and increase their property value.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems inspected the basement and determined that water was coming into the basement through the concrete floor and concrete walls. It was also determined that water was entering the basement through the basement windows. Quality 1st Basement Systems installed a full perimeter WaterGuard system which drains any incoming water to the sump pump, keeping it out of the basement. SunHouse window wells were also installed to keep water from seeping into the basement through the windows. SunHouse enclosures keep all water and debris from collecting at the window so that it does not cause future water issues in the basement.
The basement was given a finished look using ZenWall Paneling. ZenWall panesl are made with a fiberglass core with a reflective foil vapor barrier on the back side and a vinyl finish on the panels. ZenWall Panels will stop all water vapor from entering this basement through the walls and will save this homeowner on utility costs due to the reflective component and substituting for the previous cold concrete walls. Now this basement is completely waterproof with a clean, finished look.
