Waterproof floors fix wet basement in Westfield
Challenge
A Westfield homeowner liked using her basement as a recreation area for her family. However; the concrete floors were not always the most inviting or cozy. With spots of water damage and consistently cold temperature, this homeowner wanted a makeover for her wet basement’s floor.
Solution
The inspector from Quality 1st Basement Systems was able to give this homeowner the help she needed in waterproofing her basement! The Quality 1st Basement Systems installation crew started by installing a SuperSump sump pump system, which drains water out and away to prevent basement flooding, as well as an IceGuard to protect the drainage pipes from freezing during the cold winter months, ensuring water will flow smoothly.
The Quality 1st Basement Systems installation team then installed ThermalDry Floor Matting over the concrete. ThermalDry is made up of modular floor tiles that snap together, which come in carpet or tile finishes, and variety of colors. Each ThermalDry tile has raised pegs underneath that create space, which prevents cold air as well as water from seeping through. It also gives the basement a sleek, finished look. Now this homeowner can say goodbye to her slippers with her new beautiful, finished basement floor!
