Wet Maplewood basement fixed with waterproof liner and floors
Challenge
A basement in Maplewood was experiencing flooding. The water in the basement had caused damage to the floors and walls and created a damp, smelly odor. The homeowner was worried that the wet basement would eventually create mold in the house. She wanted to clean up the basement to convert the space into a recreational area but was afraid of water ruining her possessions.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems had the basement waterproofing solutions for this homeowner. The installation crew installed the TripleSafe sump pump system, complete with a back-up battery, to drain water out of the basement. Even during a power outage, the TripleSafe sump pump will function flawlessly! They also installed a WaterGuard, which ensures water will always flow smoothly out and away from the home, and IceGuard to keep pipes from freezing during the cold winter months.
The Quality 1st Basement Systems installation team then got to work installing a CleanSpace Liner over the basement walls. This vapor barrier system is made of multiple layers of plastic, making it waterproof and mold resistant. It clings tightly, making it ideal to cover stone or concrete walls and create a seal to prevent water seepage. The Quality 1st Basement Systems crew then installed the ThermalDry flooring, which is made up of modular floor tiles that snap together, which come in carpet or tile finishes, and variety of colors. Each ThermalDry tile has raised pegs underneath that create space, which prevents cold air as well as water from seeping through. Now this homeowner has a beautiful basement to use however she pleases!
