Waterproofing a Church's Basement in Vineland, NJ
Challenge
This local church in Vineland, NJ, faced significant water intrusion issues in their unfinished basement every time heavy rainfall occurred. The water would seep through the floor, creating damp conditions and further damaging the basement area. This recurring problem led to ongoing concerns about the potential for mold growth, structural damage, and the overall degradation of the basement's integrity. The church members were understandably frustrated with the situation and needed a solution that would keep their basement dry and protected long-term.
After trying various short-term fixes with limited success, the church reached out to Quality 1st Basement Systems for a permanent solution. They contacted our Customer Care team, who promptly scheduled an inspection to assess the basement’s condition and determine the best course of action.
Solution
Once our System Design Specialist, Joseph arrived at the church to inspect the basement, he quickly identified the root causes of the water intrusion: ineffective drainage and an outdated waterproofing system. Based on this assessment, he recommended a comprehensive solution tailored to address the specific needs of the basement.
The solution included a combination of our expertly engineered WaterGuard interior drainage system, a SuperSump sump pump, and the CleanSpace wall system:
-
WaterGuard System: We installed our advanced interior drainage system around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard was carefully fitted to capture any water seeping in through the walls and floor, redirecting it toward the sump pump for removal.
-
SuperSump Pump: To ensure any accumulated water was efficiently removed, we installed our powerful SuperSump pump. This sump pump is specifically designed to keep the basement dry by pumping out any water that the WaterGuard system collects, preventing the basement from becoming flooded or damp.
-
CleanSpace Wall System: The installation of the CleanSpace liner on the walls served as an additional layer of protection. Not only did it act as a waterproof barrier, but it also prevented moisture from seeping through the walls and creating a damp environment that could lead to mold growth.
With this carefully crafted solution in place, our production team got to work, installing each system with precision and expertise. The job was completed efficiently, and the church now enjoys a dry, waterproof basement, even during heavy rainstorms. The combination of these reliable systems ensured that water intrusion is no longer an issue, providing peace of mind to the church and ensuring the basement remains safe and dry for years to come.
