Waterproofing products fix Brick basement
Challenge
A homeowner in Brick wanted to finish his basement in order to create an entertainment space for his family. Unfortunately, the basement had previously flooded due to a poor sump pump system, damaging the walls and floors. To make this space functional, it would need some serious waterproofing to ensure the problem would not reoccur.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems had the right products for this wet basement. A TripleSafe sump pump system, WaterGuard and IceGuard were first installed to prevent flooding. These products are incredibly effective, especially when combined. The TripleSafe sump pump works to keep water out of the basement, while the WaterGuard keeps the water flowing out and away from basements. The IceGuard ensures that pipes will never freeze due to cold weather, which keeps water flowing properly.
Next, the Quality 1st Basement Systems crew installed BrightWall panels over the existing walls. BrightWall is made of plastic, which makes it waterproof as well as mold reistant. In addition to protecting walls, these panels brighten and enhance the look of any basement. Then the ThermalDry flooring system was installed. ThermalDry is made up of modular tiles which rest on raised pegs. The pegs create a space beneath the tiles that prevents seepage of cold air and water. This means that ThermalDry floors will always stay dry and warm. Now this homeowner has a great space for his family to enjoy!
