Basement Rec Room Waterproofed in Kearny, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Kearny worried about her wet basement's flooding tendencies. The basement was used as a recreational room and she was concerned that consistent flooding would ruin the family's possessions, as well as stimulate mold growth. The basement walls had already sustained severe water damage and the bottom half had been removed. The homeowner wanted her basement back to being dry and cozy, not damp and drafty.
Solution
The crew at Quality 1st Basement Systems had the right products to fix this flooded basement. First, a TripleSafe sump pump system was installed. The TripleSafe sump pump keeps basements dry by pumping excess water out and away from the home's foundation. This system comes complete with a back-up battery, ensuring that the TripleSafe will not fail due to power outages! To compliment this system, a WaterGuard was then installed, which collects water seepage from the walls and floors. The WaterGuard deposits this water into the sump pump system to further protect homes from water damage.
The Quality 1st Basement Systems installation team then began installing the 1/2 EverLast wall panels to the lower half of this basement's walls. The EverLast panels are made of cement, with an easily washable vinyl finish. They are entirely waterproof and mold resistant, which means this homeowner's old water issues are a problem of the past! EverLast is much harder than drywall, making it incredibly durable and difficult to dent. These panels create a beautiful, finished look for any basement!
