WaterGuard Water Drainage System Installed in Oceanport, NJ
Challenge
This future homeowner called Quality 1st Basement Systems to receive a free estimate because he was purchasing the property and noticed that the home had a wet basement. The husband and wife who were purchasing the property wanted to finish the basement so that their children would have somewhere to play but couldn't because of the unhealthy living conditions of the basement. System Design Specialist, Collin Peare, came to the home to thoroughly inspect the basement and found that water coming through the foundation walls, the floor wall joints, and the Bilco doors. The basement had a high relative humidity level of 80% which was attributed to the water that had previously entered their basement.
Solution
The installation team from Quality 1st Basement Systems installed a SuperSump Sump Pump which is a 1/3 HP sump pump that has the potential to pump out 2280 gallons of water an hour from the water collected through the WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing system, and the Trench Drain Surface Drainage System. WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is an effective way to drain water from the foundation floor and direct the flow of water to the SuperSump Sump Pump. It is a piping system that is specifically engineered for permanent basement waterproofing. It sits on top of the footing of the home rather than in the dirt so this system will never clog. A Trench Drain was installed in front of the Bilco doors and it is an open trench drain that flows right into the WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System. An IceGuard Sump Pump Discharge Line System was also installed to allow water to escape from this sump discharge line just incase it freezes or gets clogged. A LawnScape Outlet was installed that lets water flow away from the home.
The homeowner expressed concern about a damp and musty smell coming from their basement so the installation team also installed a SaniDry XP. The SaniDry XP got rid of the musty smell coming from the basement and lowered the relative humidity in the basement to less than 50%. These products installed are the best for the home owner because the children are now going to be able to play once the basement is completely finished. These homeowners wanted a company that could guarantee the work done in their basement to have their basement walls and floor stay dry for life.
