Union County Basement Waterproofing
Challenge
This Summit, NJ homeowner was getting water in his multi-level crawl space. He was also getting water in his basement. Upon inspection, Kenny found that there was standing water in the crawl space against the back wall on the different levels. There were signs of previously standing water in the basement as well. Kenny noticed effervescence, discolored and waterstained wood, and water stained sheetrock. The basement flooding was mainly occuring where the floor and walls met due to ground saturation around the home and a high water table.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems ran WaterGuard basement waterproofing system in the various levels of the crawl space and in the basement. WaterGuard was the best option for the homeowner because of the location of water penetration. WaterGuard was placed right on the footing, right up against the wall, and will perfectly manage the water right where it was coming into the basement. WaterGuard will not clog and will never fail this basement.
The installation team also added two sump pump systems. The sump pumps that were installed were the TripleSafe sump pump systems which were installed in the basement and on one of the levels in the crawl space. TripleSafe sump pump consists of three sump pumps in one which will kick on depending on the water levels; it also comes with a battery back-up. There was an incompetent sump pump in the basement and no sump pump in the crawl space previously. This homeowner needed a sump pump in their crawl space because it was very deep into the ground making it more susceptible for flooding. Usually, high water tables do not affect the crawl space as much as they do the basement, but because of this unique crawl space depth, one was needed. This basement and crawl space are now both dry and fixed!
