Basement Waterproofing and Refinish in Hillside, NJ
Challenge
The owners of this Hillside, NJ home were getting water in their finished basement after heavy rain. The basement flooding caused damage to their flooring and walls. Upon inspection, Kenny found that there was water penetration from the floor and wall joint opening up the potential for mold growth on the sheetrock and ruining the carpet. The homeowners had the carpet ripped due to musty smells and odors in the basement. The sheetrock had gotten wet several times which caused the walls to rot. The basement also lacked a sump pump.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems installed WaterGuard basement waterproofing system and a TripleSafe sump pump to manage the water and keep the basement dry. The WaterGuard was installed on two below-grade walls where water penetration was happening. The TripleSafe sump pump offers maximum protection because it contains three different pumps and a battery-backup.
Quality 1st Basement Systems installed EverLast Basement Wall Restoration to replace the damaged basement walls with an ideal basement wall system. EverLast Basement Walls do not support mold or mildew if they were to ever get wet. EverLast Wall Panels restored the basement, and is better than sheet rock because sheet rock is susceptible to mold, and EverLast wall panels are not. A plumbing leak or burst pipes would ruin sheet rock in the basement. The installation team also installed ThermalDry flooring system which is design-engineered appropriate flooring for a basement. ThermalDry allows the floor to breath so it does not trap moisture or vapor that may come through porous concrete. This basement is now beautiful, clean, and dry all the time!
