Challenge

For ten years, the homeowner of a Point Pleasant home experienced flooding across her entire basement. After dealing with a wet, musty basement for a decade, she contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems to assess and fix the problem. Inspector Collin Peare entered through the Bilco doors and noticed two inches of water across the entire basement floor. The homeowner had a cinder block foundation, which was dark and wet with flood water, forcing its way to the basement floor via the floor wall joint. She also had efflorescence on the fourth and fifth courses of block – an indicator that the soil around the home was pushing through the foundation.

Solution
