Moldy Basement Walls Replaced in Ironia, NJ
Challenge
After a big storm, this Ironia, NJ basement flooded. The house kept losing power and water kept pouring in, settling on the basement floors. After the water was cleaned up, a musty odor remained and the basement walls were damaged. The wooden basement walls had soaked up the moisture and were starting to rot. Unable to handle the strong odor and fearful of what would happen if the basement flooded again, the homeowner requested a waterproofing estimate from Quality 1st Basement Systems.
Solution
To get rid of the musty odor, Quality 1st Basement Systems removed the damaged portion of the basement walls. The crew replaced the walls with EverLast finished wall panels. EverLast wall panels will not get the same kind of moldy smells. Because they are made with inorganic materials, they do not hold in moisture. Mold and wood rot require moisture to grow, so using inorganic materials will preemptively stop them from flourishing. EverLast wall panels are long-lasting and look good too!
To prevent any future flooding, Quality 1st Basement Systems installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe has three pumps to remove moisture from the basement. The homeowner was very concerned about the potential for more flooding, so the TripleSafe was a perfect solution to keep her fears at ease. Keeping their finished basement safe was this family's ultimate goal. Now it will stay dry!
