Cracked and Bowing Walls
The homeowner was very worried about the cracked and bowing walls in his basement. The cracks and water marks are very evident in this picture and if left unattended, this could become a nightmare.
Carbon Armor & WaterGuard
Installing a WaterGuard System to drain water out of the basement, while preparing the wall for Carbon Armor was easy for the Quality 1st Basement Systems crew. It also costs much less than waterproofing a basement from the outside.
Bowing Basement Walls
After the Carbon Armor was installed to keep the walls intact and WaterGuard System is finished, we were ready to install a vapor barrier on the walls to maintain low levels of humidity but also to allow for the water behind the membrane to freely move down the basement walls.
Basement Sump Pump
Here is a great picture of our SuperSump sump pump that is being installed to pump the water out of the basement. Once the installation is completed, the sump pump will be flush with the floor and with proper annual maintenance it will work at peak performance!
Trench Drain Installed
Trench Drain is installed to catch any water coming down the stairs and drain it out of the basement. It is connected to the perimeter waterproofing system and pumped out by the sump pump that sits in the lowest spot of the basement.
Waterproofed Basement
The final product here is a basement that has been waterproofed and the its bowing walls are now being controlled and prevent further bowing. The CleanSpace Walling covers the wall and our WaterGuard french drain collects water that enters to insure the basement stays dry all the time. Behind the beautiful white anti-microbial vapor barrier are bowing walls that are being supported with CarbonArmor strips.
