A homeowner in River Edge, New Jersey was experiencing water accumulating on the basement floor and seeping in through the basement walls. The most common cause of basement leaks is the pressure caused by water in the soil surrounding the foundation. During periods of heavy rainfall, the soil becomes saturated and creates hydrostatic pressure, which pushes moisture and water through the basement walls and floors. The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, JC Gibriano, was able to help them find a solution to the issue. He suggested they replace their old sump pump and also install a French drain system. Our foreman, Jonathan Neira, installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which has three pumps in one sump liner. This sump pump has an airtight, enclosed lid to ensure the basement will stay dry. It has a backup pump that kicks in if the power goes out. Next, the foreman installed the WaterGuard Drain System, which sits underneath the slab and on top of the foundation footing. This system will catch any water and drain it right to the sump pump system. Lastly, the foreman installed the TrenchDrain System around the water heater. This will protect the water heater against future leakage, and drain water and moisture through the WaterGuard.
