Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing in Fort Lee, NJ
A homeowner in Fort Lee, New Jersey was experiencing water getting into their basement. This occurs because the soil around the foundation is poorly compacted and becomes saturated during heavy rainfall. This saturated soil creates hydrostatic pressure which causes water to push through the basement walls and floors. The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Laura McIntyre, was able to provide an inspection. Our foreman, Wilver Cardoza, started by removing the bottom half of the water-damaged walls. Then, he installed the WaterGuard Drain System. This system collects water that leaks through basement walls and drains it to the sump pump. This will keep the drainage system out of the "mud zone", where drains can usually clog. Then, the foreman installed the IceGuard Discharge Line which goes over the top of the discharge line to provide water with a secondary exit pathway.
