In the basement of this Clark, NJ home, the homeowner was looking to replace the existing window well to accommodate the finished living space. For finished basements, it is required to have an egress window to allow for a safe exit in case of an emergency. Quality 1st was able to provide the home with the solution it needed. Our Rockwell Window Well was installed to replace the existing window. These egress windows are a one-piece installation that keeps water from leaking through the wells and is resistant to rot and rust. With this new egress window, the finished basement now has a safe emergency exit that simultaneously allows for more natural light in the space and protects it from leaking water. Existing Window Well

The existing window in this basement was too small for the finished living space. Windows need to be big enough in finished basements to allow for an emergency exit.

Replacing Old Basement Window

Our crew excavates the soil along the foundation to make room for the new well. They then drill into the basement wall to make an opening large enough to install the new egress window.

Completed Egress Window Installation

Our crew backfills the hole dug for the window well. The polycarbonate safety cover sits close to ground level, protecting the well from filling with water or debris, while also preventing the risk of animals or people falling in the well.
