Job Stories From Burlington County, NJ
PolyLEVEL Restores Sinking Concrete Driveway

A Little Silver homeowner's concrete driveway was sinking, which created a driveway that was both unsightly and unsafe. The settlement occurred due to poorly compacted fill soil beneath the concrete that had shifted and created a void, which the concrete driveway then began to sink into. The homeowner knew that the cracks and gaps in his driveway could pose a tripping hazard for residents and guests, as well as a danger for vehicles.

Quality 1st Basement Systems offered the perfect solution to this sinking concrete driveway with PolyLEVEL treatment. PolyLEVEL uses high density polymers to raise the sunken concrete back to its original level, so that the cracks and gaps are filled. PolyLEVEL is a cost-effective and time-efficient solution, especially in comparison to other solutions such as mudjacking, which leaves gaping holes and takes weeks to cure. The Little Silver homeowner is now happy and safe with his newly fixed driveway!

Raising Concrete (and Property Values) in Lumberton, NJ

Bill B. in Lumberton, NJ had a problem. The concrete between his pool and his home was sinking into the ground, causing large gaps. These gaps were a huge trip hazard for him and his family, lowered the property value of the home and were an eyesore. He wanted to lift the concrete back up into place, so he called Quality 1st Basement Systems and asked for a free estimate. Specialist Jeff Nero visited the home and explained that the PolyLevel system was the best solution.

Helping Bill with his sinking concrete was easy with PolyLevel. The installation team injected PolyLevel foam underneath the sinking slab. Bill was concerned about making a mess of his property, so he was pleased to see that PolyLevel was clean and tidy. It only took coin sized holes for installation, which were then covered up. PolyLevel lifted the concrete up, making it level and safe. Bill has been very happy with his level concrete and no longer has to worry about trip hazards and a lowered property value!

Wall Crack Permanently Fixed in Mount Holly, NJ

Faye D. in Mount Holly, NJ had a crack in her cinderblock foundation. Every time it rained, water came in through the crack and dripped down the basement wall. Faye and her husband wanted the crack patched, but they wanted a solution that would work instead of a temporary band-aid. They met with basement specialist Ken Peare and he answered all of their questions.

Quality 1st Basement Systems fixed the wall crack with FlexiSpan. FlexiSpan is a permanent solution that keeps water out of foundation cracks. It seals up the crack, preventing moisture from coming in. FlexiSpan is flexible, it moves with the wall unlike an injection or an expoy. Since it stays bonded with the wall, it moves with the natural movement of the foundation. Quality 1st Basement Systems guaranteed Faye and her husband that no water would get into the basement with the FlexiSpan system. This foundation wall is protected, permanently!

Adding Energy Efficiency to a Crawl Space in Marlton, NJ

Anthony C. of Marlton, NJ was preparing his townhouse for sale.  He wanted to install new insulation in the crawl space for greater energy efficiency.  He searched the internet and found that Quality 1st Basement Systems offers no-obligation, free estimates, so he arranged an appointment to meet with John Schweitzer, crawl space specialist.

John proposed the installation of SilverGlo Insulation Panels (over the block walls) as well as SilverGlo Rim Joist Insulation (around the main floor framing system).  These products have an R-11 value to keep heat in the crawl space and therefore also provide a warmer living area above.

Anthony C. decided that Quality 1st Basement System’s plan for insulating the crawl space was both energy efficient and affordable; Quality 1st was pleased to help Anthony repair his townhouse and make the real estate transaction smoother because of it!

Eliminating a Tripping Hazard in Mt. Laurel, NJ

Robert J. from Mount Laurel, NJ noticed that the cement steps leading up to his home were sinking.  He also found that a few slabs along the walkway that were sinking were creating a tripping hazard.

Robert J. scheduled an appointment to have these areas on his property inspected.  John Schweitzer, specialist from Quality 1st Basement Systems, visited Robert J. to inspect his property and explain the PolyLEVEL process.  He described how structural grade polymers injected beneath the slabs through small holes would lift and stabilize them.  The material, less porous than concrete, would not wash out or deteriorate.  Additionally, PolyLEVEL cures within 15 minutes, limiting the disruption.

Robert J. knew that PolyLEVEL would be the best fix.  Quality 1st Basement Systems is pleased to have helped this homeowner attain a safe walkway and steps once again.

Foundation Secured in Hainesport, NJ

This home in Hainesport, New Jersey had a horizontal crack running through its foundation. When the house was built there was a problem with the structural integrity of the basement that caused the walls to bow. The soil around the foundation was dry and sandy and could not keep up with the weight of the home.

Quality 1st Basement Systems installed wall anchors to secure the foundation and prevent the foundation walls from bowing forward. Wall anchors were installed with minimal disruption to the soil around the home's foundation. It permanently stabilizes the foundation, and straightens the walls over time. Foundation problems do not get better as time goes on. This homeowner made the right choice by calling Quality 1st Basement Systems for a home improvement solution.

Lowering Crawl Space Humidity in Shamong, NJ

This homeowner in Shamong, NJ had a critter problem. One of the vents to the crawl space decayed and left an opening for a large rodent to find a home in the crawl space. After the problem was resolved, the family thought about the quality of their crawl space. It was humid and now it was open for any insects or pests to move in.

Quality 1st Basement Systems closed up the crawl space with a vent cover. The crawl space vent cover protects the area from moisture, humidity, and any outdoor pests looking to come into the crawl space. Then, to lower the humidity the crew installed a SaniDry dehumidifier. The SaniDry is a self-draining dehumidification system that removes moisture from the air and also filters out health harming allergens such as dust mite droppings. Now this crawl space has lowered humidity and is protected from nasty pests.

Creating a Drier Basement in Burlington, NJ

Homeowner Kristofer from Burlington had a tenant in the livable basement space, but he also found that he had a water problem there.  The tenant indicated that water was coming up through the floor, getting the carpeting wet.

Kristofer searched the internet and found that Quality 1st Basement Systems might be just the help he needed.  Waterproofing specialist Maurice Robinson visited the homeowner, inspected the basement, and designed a solution.

Project Manager Melvin Cardoza headed a crew to install the WaterGuard System along the basement walls and a SuperSump sump pump to discharge any water that seeps into the WaterGuard.  This combination was supplemented with the FlexiSpan crack repair system to provide an effective, permanent solution to block water intrusion through the vertical crack found on one wall.  Additionally, the crew installed an IceGuard (designed to prevent flooding in the event of frozen discharge pipes) and a LawnScape outlet (to disperse discharge water away from the house and onto the lawn).  Quality 1st Basement Systems helped to create a drier basement, providing relief for both the homeowner and the tenant, too!

Stabilizing a Failing Foundation Slab in Willingboro, NJ

Katrina’s home in Willingboro, NJ was showing multiple signs common to sinking foundations.  She saw cracks inside and outside her home.  There were cracks in the drywall around doors and windows and cracks on the ceilings.  Doors were not opening and/or closing properly.  There was an uneven floor and the roof was separating as well as the tub/shower pan.  Signs like those were certainly something to be concerned about.

Katrina called Quality 1st Basement Systems to schedule a free estimate appointment.  Foundation specialist Jeff Nero inspected her home and all of the tell-tale signs of a failing concrete slab foundation.  He determined that Katrina’s home could be stabilized and restored through the installation of Slab Piers.  Slab Piers are designed to provide strength and stabilization through deep-soil anchoring.  Once stable soil is reached and a bracket is set, the weight of the slab is transferred to the piers and the slab can be lifted back to its original position.  Poly grout is then injected under the slab to fill the void.

Quality 1st Basement Systems was glad to repair Katrina’s failing foundation slab before the damage got worse.  Katrina could then rest a little easier knowing that her foundation was secure.

Taming Humidity and Mold, the Energy-Efficient Way in Riverside, NJ

Homeowner Robin K. from Riverside, NJ began noticing some musty odors in her partially-finished basement.  There was a pattern; usually these odors were smelled during the summer months, and the humidity levels were also much higher then as well.  Robin knew that mold growth was possible under these conditions, so she attempted to keep humidity levels low by running a dehumidifier.  Over time, she found her basement situation to be so severe that it burned up three room dehumidifiers!  None of those systems were simply powerful enough.  She began looking for something more durable and reached out to Quality 1st Basement Systems to find out more about their powerful, energy-efficient dehumidifiers.

The ultra-efficient SaniDry XP removes the moisture from the air and blows out a dry air into the space. This system helps keep the humidity levels below 50%, reducing the chance for mold to grow.  It also has a two-stage filter system to clean the air of allergens.  There are no water catch-basins to empty as the system is self-draining.  The high-capacity, high-efficiency SaniDry XP dehumidification system seemed to be exactly what was needed in Robin’s basement. It provided the assurance needed so Robin wouldn’t have to worry any more about mold growth and could run her system without running up her energy bill!

Leveling a Sinking Front Porch in Riverside, NJ

An open-air front porch.  What a great amenity for any homeowner to relax on outdoors.  What happens, though, if that prized area is slowly sinking?  Homeowner Joseph S. from Riverside, NJ noticed a gradual sloping from one side of his porch to the other, a difference of nearly two inches.  He searched on-line and found Quality 1st Basement Systems.  He needed to know if PolyLEVEL could be used to repair his porch.

Specialist Kenny Tramutola visited Joseph and inspected his porch.  With the concrete slab sinking and separating from the brick foundation, the PolyLEVEL process would be a quick and permanent fix for the porch.  The process would involve the injection of structural grade polymers beneath the concrete porch slab through small holes, lifting and stabilizing the area.  The material, less porous than concrete, would not wash out or deteriorate.

Joseph S. was ready to have his porch level again.  Quality 1st Basement Systems completed the work and since PolyLEVEL cures within 15 minutes, Joseph was happily back on his porch in a very short time!

Encapsulating a Crawl Space in Medford, NJ

David R. from Medford, NJ was thinking about encapsulating his concrete-floor crawlspace.  The space was damp and insulation was falling down.  He scheduled an appointment to have waterproofing specialist Jeff Nero out to inspect the problem area, answer David’s questions, develop a plan for fixing the crawlspace, and provide a free estimate.  David was pleased with the proposed plan and cost so he decided to move forward with the work.

Project Manager Victor Leon brought his crew to David’s property and began the remediation process. CleanSpace Drainage Matting was installed on the floor to eliminate sitting water and direct it to the SmartSump sump pump system. The high-quality, low-profile SmartSump would pump the water out and away from the home and disperse it onto the lawn through the LawnScape discharge outlet.  An IceGuard was included along the discharge route for colder months, to prevent flooding if ice begins to block the way.  Lastly, airtight CleanSpace vent covers were installed to seal out moisture and a CleanSpace liner was installed to complete the encapsulation by further preventing water vapor from making its way into the crawl space.

By the end of the project, David R. found his crawl space transformed from a dark, damp space beneath his home to a cleaner, brighter, drier area isolated from the earth.  Quality 1st Basement Systems was happy to please this customer!

Musty Crawl Space Odors Eliminated in Medford, NJ

Although homeowner Joana S. from Medford, NJ had no water problems in her crawl space, she did notice some musty smells circulating down there. She wasn’t sure what the best solution would be – a dehumidifier? A sump pump? A vapor barrier?  She inquired with Quality 1st Basement Systems, looking for an expert to help her resolve her problem.

Waterproofing specialist John Schweitzer completed a thorough inspection of Joana’s crawl space, discussed the best options for resolving the musty smells (including a dehumidifier and vent covers), and provided her with a free estimate.

The low-profile, powerful, energy-efficient SaniDry CX removes the moisture from the air and blows out a dry air into the space. This system helps keep the humidity levels below 50%, reducing the chance for mold to grow.  It also has a two-stage filter system to clean the air of allergens.  There are no water catch-basins to empty as the system is self-draining.  The high-capacity SaniDry CX dehumidification system installed in conjunction with CleanSpace vent covers (to seal out the moisture) seemed to be exactly what was needed in Joana’s crawl space to stop the musty smells. Joana could run her new system, removing the humid air that creates mold and musty smells, while saving energy at the same time!

Securing a Bowing Foundation Wall in Medford, NJ

One of Quality 1st Basement Systems’ foundation specialists, Kenny Tramutola, was scheduled to meet with a Medford homeowner who was looking to get a free estimate for his failing foundation wall.  Kenny inspected the bowing basement wall.  Though the problem may have initially seemed like an overwhelming situation for the homeowner, Kenny was able to assure him that the tools and products available was a sure solution.

Kenny determined that the best solution for this homeowner’s problem was the PowerBrace system of support.  The corrosion-resistant system can mean more than support; it can potentially improve the wall over time by means of its patented system of tightening.  With the homeowner’s consent, an installation date was scheduled.  The installation of the steel beams immediately stabilized the home and prevented the wall from further movement.  Quality 1st Basement Systems was happy to put the homeowner at ease once again with a newly-secured foundation wall.

Solution to Wet Basement in Little Falls, NJ: FOUND!

A Little Falls homeowner had a wet basement and was ready to find a solution.  She searched the internet and found Quality 1st Basement Systems.

A Quality 1st Basement Waterproofing Specialist visited the homeowner, completed a thorough interior and exterior inspection of her basement, and determined the best solution to the water problems she was experiencing.  The homeowner received a free estimate for the proposed work and the specialist answered all of her questions and addressed any concerns.

A Quality 1st Basement Systems installation crew mobilized to Little Falls, NJ to fix the homeowner’s basement.  They installed a full-perimeter WaterGuard (to channel and direct any water seepage); a TrenchLock trench drain (which spans doorways to collect water from outside and connects to the WaterGuard); a SuperSump Sump Pump System (to efficiently and reliably remove water from the basement area); an IceGuard (designed to prevent flooding in the event of frozen discharge pipes); and a LawnScape outlet (to direct discharge water away from the home and disperse it on the lawn).

With all of the waterproofing systems working in conjunction with one another, Quality 1st Basement Systems helped to create a more secure, drier basement.  Additionally, the homeowner’s worries about having a wet basement were eased.

Water on Basement Floor No Longer a Problem in Mount Holly, NJ

Homeowner Helen T. in Mount Holly was experiencing water on the basement floor after a rain.  She wanted to stop the wetness before it caused further problems.  She searched the internet, found Quality 1st Basement Systems, and called to schedule a free estimate appointment.

A basement waterproofing specialist visited Helen to complete a thorough interior and exterior inspection of her basement to determine the best solution to the problems she was experiencing.  He came up with an ideal plan to meet her needs, answered all of her questions, and provided her with a free estimate for the waterproofing products and work.  Helen wanted a drier basement, so set up an installation date for Quality 1st Basement Systems to mobilize a crew to Mount Holly to fix Helen’s basement.

As agreed, the crew installed a full-perimeter WaterGuard (to channel and direct water seepage from the walls); a TrenchLock trench drain (to prevent water from seeping in at the stairway); an UltraSump and a SuperSump system (powerful and efficient sump pumps to provide exceptional protection); an IceGuard (designed to prevent flooding in the event of frozen discharge pipes); and a LawnScape outlet (to disperse discharge water away from the home and on the lawn).  Additionally, a SaniDry CX was installed to maintain a low humidity level.

Quality 1st Basement Systems helped to create a more secure, drier basement and Helen T. was able to have peace of mind about her basement.

Pool Walk Area Concrete Leveled in Almost No Time in Mount Holly, NJ

Hector from Mount Holly, NJ had a concrete walk area around the pool which was beginning to sink.  It was becoming a trip hazard, dropping off from the nearby walk area by approximately 2”.  In search of repair, Hector found Quality 1st Basement Systems on the internet and was curious about the PolyLEVEL process advertised for lifting and leveling concrete.  He wondered if this could be the solution he was searching for, so he called Quality 1st and scheduled an appointment for a free estimate.

Certified PolyLEVEL professional John Schweitzer visited Hector and inspected the concrete area around the pool.  John explained how the PolyLEVEL system is a quick fix for sinking concrete slabs.  The process involves the injection of structural grade polymers beneath the concrete slabs through small holes, lifting and leveling the area; in essence, eliminating the tripping hazard.  The environmentally friendly material used in this process is less porous than concrete and will not wash out or deteriorate in the ground.

Hector found what he was looking for to avoid replacing the concrete.  He agreed to have Quality 1st Basement Systems complete the work and, since PolyLEVEL cures within 15 minutes, the concrete area around the Hector’s pool was soon no longer a tripping hazard and ready to be walked on again in almost no time!

Ridding the Crawl Space of Moisture and Musty Smells in Vincentown, NJ

Musty smells…water seepage...signs of a problem in the crawl space.  What’s the next thing to do?

Well, Ray from Vincentown was lucky enough to have a friend who had work done by Quality 1st Basement Systems, so he soon learned that he could have a crawl space specialist visit to provide him with a free estimate for repairs to the problems he was experiencing.  He had nothing to lose and was searching for a resolution.  Without hesitation, he called to schedule an appointment.

A Quality 1st Basement Systems’ specialist completed a thorough inspection of the crawl space, answered Ray’s questions, and then suggested that TerraBlock padded insulation be installed on the crawl space floor for a combination of energy savings and moisture protection.  In addition, SilverGlo Insulation Panels were suggested for the walls to result in additional water vapor protection while boosting energy efficiency as the panels reflect heat back into the crawl space.  Then, the durable CleanSpace Crawl Space Vapor Barrier (with a 25-year warranty against rips and tears) would be a quick-install to further isolate the home from the earth, providing yet another barrier to moisture which can cause mold and musty smells.  Lastly, installing a sturdy new, airtight Everlast Door made from inorganic plastics and foams would further help in sealing the space under the home.

Completion of the project permitted Ray to not only have a drier crawl space, but also to experience a warmer main level of her home with energy-cost savings.  In addition, Ray took advantage of a Preferred Customer Discount being offered and saved money on his investment.   Quality 1st Basement Systems was happy to have helped Ray achieve a greater peace of mind through this crawl space remediation!

New Basement Wall Panels Replace Water-Damaged Sheetrock in Browns Mills Basement

A homeowner in Browns Mills, NJ was displeased to find that water was coming into his basement, causing some damage to the finished basement walls.  The homeowner, Robert M., contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems as they offered no-obligation free inspections and estimates by certified waterproofing specialists.

After completion of a thorough interior and exterior inspection of the basement by waterproofing specialist Ken Peare, he determined the best solution to the water problems that Robert was experiencing and came up with an ideal plan.  He carefully explained his findings and waterproofing plans to Robert, and provided a free estimate for the waterproofing products and work.  Robert was ready to have his basement repaired so that the space would be drier and healthier.

A crew (headed by Project Manager Jonathan Neira) went to Browns Mills, NJ to fix this homeowner’s basement.  They installed a full-perimeter WaterGuard, designed to channel and direct any water seepage to a sump pump system.  Additionally, the crew installed Everlast Wall to restore the water-damaged portion of the wall with mold-resistant finished wall panels.

Quality 1st Basement Systems helped to create a drier basement for Robert and provided a permanent solution for the damaged walls. Robert was pleased to regain comfortable use of the basement space.

Crawl Space Winterized in Chatsworth, NJ

Towards the end of the summer, this Chatsworth homeowner had contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems to winterize his parents crawl space. After seeing the results of warmer floors and lower heating bills, he decided to give Quality 1st another call to have a specialist come out to meet with him about his own.

The System Design Specialist drove out to Chatsworth, NJ and did a full inspection of the crawl space and designed a solution that best fit the concerns the homeowner had for his crawl space once the temperatures dropped.

The crew installed TerraBlock foam insulation to the floors and then covered it with CleanSpace moisture barrier to completely seal the floors. These two products work together to insulate  and prevent moisture and humidity from forming inside the crawl space. Next, SilverGlo was installed against the walls to stop air leaks. SilverGlo has a built in heat barrier to help fight cold air. CleanSpace is then installed over the SilverGlo to again seal the crawl space from unwanted air, dirt and moisture or humidity build up. Lastly, the rim joist that rest on the foundation are sealed to prevent frigid air from coming through. Any windows or vents located in the crawl space are covered and seal to complete the winterized crawl space process.

Now the homeowner can enjoy his home this winter without having cold floors or a high heating bill each month! He was so pleased with the results that he referred Quality 1st Basement Systems to his neighbors.

Push Pier System Sets a Homeowner at Ease in Hainesport, NJ

Foundation specialist Kenny Tramutola visited Donna S. to provide a thorough inspection of her foundation to determine the best solution which would meet her needs.  Kenny determined that Foundation Supportworks, Inc. Push Pier System would be the best solution to stabilize the home.  Push Piers are installed below grade, with galvanized tubes and brackets being driven deep into the ground to transfer the weight of the house to more stable soil or bedrock.  They permanently protect the home from further movement and potentially restore value to the property.  Additionally, the Push Piers come with a 25-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

This quality permanent solution was just what Donna S. needed.  Quality 1st Basement Systems was happy to leave the homeowner with peace of mind and stood proudly behind their work.

The PowerBrace Support System Provides Sure Solution to Bowing Walls in Beverly, NJ

A homeowner needed to address an issue she saw in her basement: a bowing cement block wall.  She became concerned about what she saw and sought expert assistance in evaluating and fixing the problem.  She contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems to schedule a no-obligation, free estimate appointment.

Basement Design Specialist Kenny Tramutola completed a thorough interior and exterior inspection to determine the extent of the foundation damage.  Though the problem may have initially seemed like an overwhelming situation for the homeowner, Kenny was able to assure her that the quality products and services available would be a sure and permanent solution.

After the inspection, Kenny carefully explained what he found, proposed the best solution for this homeowner’s needs, answered the homeowner’s questions, and provided her with a free quote. Kenny determined that the PowerBrace system of support with joist reinforcement would be the best product to remedy the foundation problem.  The corrosion-resistant system can mean more than support; it can potentially improve the wall over time by means of its patented system of tightening.  Because this system doesn’t involve any exterior work, the installation of the steel beams is quick and relatively non-invasive.  The I-beams immediately stabilize the home and prevent the wall from further movement.

This homeowner decided to move forward with the solution proposed.  Quality 1st Basement Systems was happy to put the homeowner’s mind at ease with a newly-secured foundation wall and the homeowner could breathe a sigh of relief.

Church Bulletin Ad Leads Homeowner to Resolving Basement Water Seepage Problem in Florence Township, NJ

A homeowner had been experiencing a wet basement during rains.  She noticed over time that the water problem had been getting worse.  Determined to find a solution, she decided to call Quality 1st Basement Systems after seeing an ad in her church bulletin.  She scheduled a no-obligation free estimate appointment.

A Quality 1st Basement Waterproofing Specialist visited the Florence Township homeowner.  In his complete interior and exterior inspection of her basement, he found several signs of water intrusion through the walls and floor, including efflorescence on the cement block walls as well as loose and lifting floor tiles.  After determining the best solution to meet the homeowner’s needs, the specialist explained the products and services that would be used to rectify the situation, answered all of her questions, addressed any concerns, and then provided her with a free quote for the proposed work.  With 20% down, Quality 1st Basement Systems scheduled her installation.

A Quality 1st Basement Systems installation crew mobilized to Florence Township to fix the homeowner’s basement.  A full-perimeter WaterGuard, expertly manufactured to channel and direct any water seepage to the sump pump along with a newly installed TripleSafe Sump Pump System would efficiently and reliably remove water from the basement area.  The TripleSafe includes an efficient primary pump, a back-up pump (in case the first one fails or if there is a need for extra pumping power), and a third battery-operated pump (designed to kick in if the power goes out). IceGuards were installed on the discharge drains, too, to prevent a flood in the event that the lines freeze during the colder months.

Concrete Raising in Maple Shade, NJ

Sam noticed puddles would form in his driveway after heavy rain due to sinking slabs in the middle of his driveway. Each of the four inner slabs had settled allowing the water to pool in the center and trapping almost 10 inches of water. Sam could not take the puddles any longer and started looking for concrete replacement options until he came across our concrete lifting and leveling solution, PolyLevel. Sam watched our Facebook PolyLevel video and was amazed at how easily we lifted and leveled multiple sidewalks, driveways and porches. He gave us a call right away for our Concrete Repair Specialist, Jeff, to provide the ultimate solution.

Jeff met with Sam and inspected not only his driveway but the patio area in the back to make sure no other slabs had settled. He explained that slabs sink because of the weak soil beneath the slab. Our PolyLevel solution will help the soil beneath the slab by offering additional support. Our team drills small penny- sizes holes into all four of the slabs. PolyLevel is injected beneath the slab where it expands filling any voids underneath. Once the slabs are leveled, PolyLevel hardens stabilizing the slabs.

Sidewalk Raising in Palmyra, NJ

A homeowner in Palmyra , NJ contacted us with sinking concrete concerns in the front of their home. The sidewalk in front of their home and the path leading up to their front door had settled creating an uneven walkway path. Not only was it an eyesore to the homeowner but also a trip hazard that could cause serious injury if not leveled. When they heard we had an alternative solution to concrete replacement, they contacted us right away for a free estimate.

Our Concrete Repair Specialist, Jeff P. met with the homeowner and did a full inspection of the sidewalks and pathways around the entire property. He measured roughly 2 inches of settlement on the from sidewalk, 3 inches of settlement on the walkway path and 1 inch of settlement on the back patio. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam that is injected beneath the sinking slab. The foam fills expands under the slab to fill any voids and raise the concrete. Once the concrete is raised back towards its original level, the foam hardens to stabilize the slab to prevent future settlement.

The homeowner was amazed at the professionalism of the crew, the customer service provided in the office and most important the installation process performed at the home. The homeowner was so happy they chose Quality 1st Basements to provide a solution for the concrete issues they were experiencing.

Concrete Driveway Raising in Burlington County, NJ

Quality 1st Basements raised a concrete driveway back towards it's original level, permanently stabilizing it to prevent future sinking and settling.

A Burlington, NJ homeowner had a concrete driveway that had settled causing trip hazards in multiple spots of the driveway. With the concrete being uneven, water would pool trapping the water in the driveway. The homeowner wanted to remove the trip hazards and raise the driveway back to level to allow water to flow straight into the grass.

Concrete Repair Specialist, Andy, explained that the soil beneath the slab was not strong enough to support the weight of the driveway causing it to sink. It is a quick and clean installation and allows you to walk on the slab instantly once raised.

Our team came in drilled small penny-size holes into the concrete slabs. Using special equipment, PolyLevel is injected underneath the sinking slab. The foam expands, filling all the voids and raising the slab. Once the slab is at it's desired level, our team stops injecting and allows a few minutes for the PolyLevel foam to harden. Now the slabs are permanently raised and stabilized.

Concrete Lifting and Leveling in Roebling, NJ

John, a homeowner in Burlington County, had sinking concrete all around his pool area. Removing the cover, he noticed several slabs had settled over the winter and now he had uneven concrete creating an eye sore and tripping hazards! Replacing the entire pool deck was not an option for him. He wanted a solution that would be quick and cause no disruption to the surrounding landscape near the pool. Doing research online, he came across our Concrete Lifting and Leveling System, PolyLevel. Curious about the system and its material, John contacted us for a free estimate. We sent Concrete Repair Specialist, Dylan, out to provide a thorough inspection and answer any questions John had.

Dylan explained that over time, concrete sinks and settles because the soil beneath can no longer support the weight of the concrete. The cause behind weakening soil is one of three causes, too wet, too dry or poorly compacted. For John, his soil was too dry causing it to shrink and creating  voids between the soil and the slab. PolyLevel fills the voids, raises the slabs back to level, permanently stabilizing the entire concrete area.

Damp Crawl Space in Columbus, NJ

Your crawl space is probably the only space in your home that you don't go in often or don't use at all. Yet, its one of, if not the most important place in your home. Why? Simply because over 80% of the air you breathe on the first level of your home comes from the space below, your crawl space! So  if your crawl space is damp and musty, its creating an odor, mold and poor air quality which you and your family are now breathing in while watching tv and eating dinner. Yuck!

Quality 1st Basement Systems has been fixing nasty crawl spaces for over 20 years and so when Joanne and Michael from Columbus, NJ realized their crawl space needed to be checked out by a professional, they knew just who to call. We sent System Design Specialist, Javier, out to provide a full inspection and recommend a permanent solution to protect their home and provide them with peace of mind.

Upon inspection, Javier noticed small puddles of water in multiple spots. There were white marks on the wall, known as efflorescence and signs of mold. The vents were allowing humid air come through along with moisture. Javier could also smell a strong odor that filled the entire area. Overall the space needed help and Javier knew exactly what to recommend.

Javier explained to Joanne and Mike that the best solution to their water problems in their crawl space was to completely seal the space off from the outside environment. The crawl space vents needed to be completely sealed with vent covers that would properly seal and prevent water from coming through. Next he recommended our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to prevent water seepage and promote a cleaner space. Lastly, our crawl space sump pump known as SmartSump, to capture and direct water out of the crawl space and away from the home.

Joanne and Mike were amazed at the experience they had with Javier. His honesty and knowledge is what helped them in their decision to hire Quality 1st to protect their crawl space.

Musty Crawl Space in Columbus, NJ

James recently purchased a home in Columbus, NJ but a few months after moving in he noticed a smell coming from his crawl space. When entering, he immediately noticed dampness and small wet puddles near certain corners. The dirt floor was now mud and his insulation was falling out of the ceiling.

James contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems for a free estimate on how to protect the space and keep it dry. We sent Crawl Space Specialist, Mike F. out to perform a full inspection and provide James with a recommendation on permanent solution.

When Mike entered the crawl space he was hit with that same musty smell indicating that the space was allowing moisture, water and humidity inside. He noticed signs of mold and efflorescence on the wall. Now it was time for Mike to figure out where it was coming from.

Mike noticed the vents were open giving that humid air easy access to the crawl space. Water was coming up through the ground creating that dampness and the busy smell formed because of it.

He recommended James fully encapsulate his crawl space to seal it off from the harmful outside environment preventing this crawl space from being healthy. He suggested covering the vents, putting a VaporBarrier System on the walls and floors and installing a dehumidifier to prevent a musty odor.

Concrete Patio Repair in Burlington, NJ

A Burlington County Resident contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems after noticing the concrete slabs around his backyard patio had become uneven, creating a major safety hazard for his children and guest. They made an appointment with our Concrete Repair Specialist, Chris Bowe, to come out and provide them with a thorough inspection and options for a permeant solution.

Chris measured roughly 2 to 5 inches of settlement across the patio area. The unevenness over time created water stains from puddles of water being trapped on the slabs since they would not drain properly to the grass. He recommended PolyLevel because although its light weight, its strong and waterproof. It will fill the voids in between the soil and concrete, and raise the slabs back towards their original positions.

First, the crew drilled small, penny-shaped holes into the concrete slab. Next, our crew used specially designed equipment to inject structural graded polymers into the void. After filling the void, the expansion of the polyurethane then lifts the slab to its desired height. The process is repeated until the entire patio area is lifted to its proper height.

Wall Failure Repaired in New Gretna, NJ

A couple in New Gretna, NJ recently purchased a home and needed a Foundation Repair expert out to inspect their basement walls that had diagonal cracks and bowing walls. They reached out to their neighbor asking if they recommended a Foundation company in the area that would provide them with an honest estimate. Being an existing customer of ours, the neighbor recommended us right away to provide an estimate.

Upon inspection in the basement, Our System Design Specialist, Javier Romero, noticed the bowing walls and cracks immediately. He also discovered new smaller cracks in the far corner of the basement. Our specialist told the couple that over time, the soil is exposed to dry weather causing it to shrink and turn into clay. The clay soil then puts the amount of pressure against the walls of the basement walls, causing it to crack. Javier recommended our CarbonArmor System be installed to stabilize the basement walls and prevent future movement or cracking. This would prevent more damage and protect the structure and value of the home.

Our crew installed 5 Carbon Fiber Straps to each basement wall to secure and stabilize the foundation. First, our crew grinds the walls down to create a clean surface. Pool Patio Concrete Repair in Windsor, NJ

A homeowner in Windsor, New Jersey noticed their sidewalk was sinking and settling. This can be a problem because tripping over uneven sections near a pool can be a dangerous safety hazard. Spills on concrete can cause serious injuries to people's backs, bones, and their head. This can open unwanted liability if it causes injuries to family and friends.

Sinking and settling in concrete happens because concrete is often poured over recently backfilled soil. Over time, this loose soil settles and creates voids under the concrete. As you can see in the picture, the concrete was cracking and sinking into the soil.

The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems, and our System Design Specialist, Jay Alvarez, was able to help them with a solution to this issue. He suggested they inject polyurethane foam into the concrete slab to lift and level it.

Our foreman, Sean Andreas Johnson, used the PolyLevel Injections under the slab. This is done by drilling tiny holes in the concrete and injecting the polyurethane into the void. Doing this will provide an accurate lift and leveling of the concrete slab. Now, the homeowner does not have to worry about tripping hazards.

Concrete Driveway Repair in Columbus, NJ

A resident in Columbus, New Jersey noticed their driveway was sinking and settling. This happens because concrete is sometimes poured over poorly compacted loose soil. Over time, this soil settles and creates voids under the concrete. This can pose very dangerous tripping hazards because a friend or a family member can walk on this driveway and trip over it. A driveway is supposed to provide safety, not tripping hazards.

The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Chris Bowe, helped them with a plan to fix this issue. He suggested they use a polyurethane foam that will lift the concrete to its original position.

Our foreman, Sean Johnson, used the PolyLevel Injection System on the sinking concrete. This is done by drilling small holes into the concrete and injecting the polyurethane foam into the voids. This foam has expanding properties that allow for a lift and leveling of the slab. PolyLevel is a great option because it can be installed in a matter of a few hours. It is also environmentally friendly, waterproof, and is a lightweight solution that will not add weight to existing soil. Now, the homeowner does not have to worry about tripping over their driveway.

Driveway and Sidewalk Lifting in Hainesport, NJ

A homeowner's driveway in Hainesport, New Jersey was cracking, sinking, and settling. This was becoming a hazard because the sinking and settling were happening on the sidewalk, where other residents walk. This often happens because of the backfilled loose soil underneath the concrete. Over time, this loose soil settles and creates a void underneath the concrete. This can be a danger because a resident, family member, or friend could trip on the sidewalk or the driveway and hurt themselves.

The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Chris Bowe, was able to provide an inspection of the driveaway and help them fix this issue. Upon his inspection, Chris saw how unlevel and unsafe the concrete was. Chris suggested they use a polyurethane foam to be injected under the concrete to lift it.

Our foreman, Sean Johnson, used the PolyLevel Injection System under the concrete. This is done by drilling small, penny-sized holes into the slab and injecting the polyurethane foam into the voids underneath the concrete. The polyurethane has expanding properties that allow for an accurate lift and level of the slab. PolyLevel is a lightweight, environmentally friendly, waterproof solution that will not add weight to the existing soil, and will not wash out. This install process has very minimal disruption to the existing concrete. To fill the cracks in the concrete, Sean Johnson used the NexusPro Joint Sealant on the concrete slab. This sealant is pliable so the natural expansion and contraction of concrete during weather changes does not break its bond. This will also protect the concrete from water infiltration.

When the job was finished, the homeowner was pleased with the outcome. They were once again able to walk on their driveway without the safety hazard of tripping, and they no longer had to worry about residents tripping on the sidewalk.

Basement Waterproofing in Shamong, NJ

Quality 1st Basement Systems was contacted by a homeowner in Shamong, NJ about a water concern they noticed in their unfinished basement. The homeowner found standing water after a heavy down pour so they were interested in installing a drainage and sump pump system. We provided an inspection of the basement as well as a quote for the homeowner. Our System Design Specialist performed a thorough inspection and then review their findings with the homeowner.

Since the water was coming in through the foundation wall leaving small puddles in two corners of the basement, he recommended a French drain system to collect and direct water directly to the sump pump. The sump pump would then remove the water from the basement area, keeping the space dry.

We installed our WaterGuard French Drain and Triple Safe Sump Pump systems. Both are durable, long-lasting, and keep the basement dry and healthy. Specifically, WaterGuard is installed above the footing of the foundation so it will never clog. Our TripleSafe Sump Pump provides three times the protection against water seepage and can pump 2,200 gallons of water per hour.

Since the installation, the homeowner has not experienced any other water issues in their basement.

Basement Waterproofing in Southampton, NJ

John B, a homeowner in Southampton, NJ  , was experiencing water seepage coming in from small cracks in this cider block foundation wall behind his wall panels. Concerned that this could cause serious damage to the rest of his basement he decided to contact an expert to provide him with a quote on a permanent solution for keeping water out.

Quality 1st Basement Systems sent System Design Specialist, Steve Roldan, out to inspect the foundation walls and provide a recommendation on a solution. Upon inspection, Steve noticed active water seepage coming in directly underneath the basement window through the small horizontal crack that went across the entire length of the basement wall. Hydrostatic pressure was causing a slight bowing in the wall which therefore created the cracks where the water was seeping through.

Steve recommended our Wall Repair System known as PowerBrace, be installed to stabilize the wall and prevent future movement. To keep the basement dry, he suggested a full waterproofing system which included our WaterGuard French Drain system to collect the water from the walls. For how large the basement was, Steve recommended our TripleSafe Sump Pump System to provide the ultimate protection during the heaviest of rain.

John was relieved that he finally had peace of mind when it came to his home. His foundation was now stabilized and his basement was now waterproofed.

Crawls Space Reinforcement in Browns Mills, NJ

There are a number of problems that can arise in a home's basement or crawl space due to water damage or foundation weaknesses. The systems Quality 1st installs to resolve these issues are specifically geared towards the individual needs of each home. While foundation restoration and waterproofing systems are very different types of installations for two different types of problems, the roots of these problems are closely related - water. We can install a foundation repair system in a home, but that doesn't prevent or protect against water damage, which is usually what caused the foundation problems in the first place. Such was the case for this crawl space  in a Browns Mills, NJ home. Our crew had previously installed a foundation repair system to fix the bowing floors of this home, but unfortunately that did not prevent moisture from getting in and doing more damage.

Our Service Technician Thomas went out to the customer's home to assess how we could further help resolve the damage facing their home's foundation. Their crawl space was suffering from moisture that was still present and weakening the space. Foreman Mario and our crew went out to the home for an encapsulation installation that could best protect the crawl space. Our EverLast Crawl Space Door and Vent Covers were installed to block off outside air and moisture from getting into the crawl space. Drainage Matting was lined along the floor of the crawl space, lying just beneath the  CleanSpace Vapor Barrier that was installed to encapsulate the crawl space. This pairing allows for water to be trapped behind the vapor barrier and flow along the drainage matting into the sump pump. The crawl space was then insulated with our SilverGlo Insulation Panels to regulate the temperature in the crawl space, and equipped with our Sedona Humidifier for maximum moisture control. With these installations, this crawl space is no longer vulnerable to water damage threatening the home's structure.

Quality 1st's services were able to provide this customer with another resolution in protecting and strengthening their home. Our crew of experts left the crawl space clean, dry, temperature-controlled, and supported - what more could a homeowner ask for!

Maple Shade, NJ Concrete Settlement Surface Transformation

In Maple Shade, NJ, a homeowner began to notice a growing problem: the concrete around their home was settling unevenly. The entryway, driveway, and front sidewalk had started to buckle and sink, creating unsightly cracks and dangerous tripping hazards.

The uneven driveway made parking a challenge, the entryway became a potential tripping hazard for guests, and the front sidewalk was becoming a safety liability as well. The owner began to incessantly worry about both the safety of her family and the curb appeal of their beloved home.

Determined to find a solution, this homeowner did some research and discovered our team of structural repair experts specializing in concrete lifting and repair. After an initial consultation, our system design specialist Nelson suggested a process called "PolyLevel"—a technique that involves injecting a polyurethane based foam beneath the settled concrete to lift and stabilize it.

Shortly following this meeting, our foreman JD and his crew of professionals arrived at the home. They began by drilling small holes in the affected areas and carefully injected Polylevel. As the mixture expanded and settled, the once sunken concrete began to rise, gradually restoring the slabs to their original position. The crew also administered our specially formulated ultraviolet resistant NexusPro Joint Sealant, into the cracks and crevices, to entirely safeguard the surface from erosion.

The owner watched in relief as their entryway, driveway, and sidewalk were returned to their former state. The cracks disappeared, and the tripping hazards were fully eliminated. The home’s curb appeal was revived, and the owner could once again enjoy their porch without worrying about uninviting and unsafe surfaces.

As they admired the rejuvenated concrete, the homeowner felt a renewed sense of pride in their home. The repair had not only solved a pressing problem but also reaffirmed the owners love for the charming house they had always cherished.
