A homeowner in Trenton, New Jersey noticed their sidewalk was sinking and becoming unlevel. This happens because the soil underneath the the slabs is either too wet, too dry, or poorly compacted causing it to become weak. This soil settles over time and creates voids underneath the slab, which causes the slab to shift and creates a dangerous tripping hazard. The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Chris Bowe, was able to provide an inspection and suggested they use a polyurethane foam. Our foreman, Sean Johnson, used the PolyLevel Injection System to be injected into the voids under the slab to lift the slab to its original position. Now, residents can safely walk on the sidewalk without the concern of tripping.
