Front Porch Concrete Raising in New City, NY
Challenge
Peter from New City,NY contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems after his front porch had settled leaving gaps and uneven surface. We sent Concrete Repair Specialist, Jeff P. out to do a full inspection, take measurements and discuss the process with Peter on how PolyLevel could provide the ultimate solution for his porch.
Jeff explained that the soil underneath his porch was either too wet or dry causing it to become weak and could no longer support the weight of the heavy concrete causing settlement. Replacing the slab would only be a temporary fix because gradually overtime the same thing would happen. Jeff recommended PolyLevel because it provides additional support and stabilization to the existing slabs.
Jeff measured roughly a half inch to inch of settlement and showed Peter how the installation is completed and how PolyLevel is waterproof and environmentally friendly making it safe and long term.
Solution
Unlike replacement, PolyLevel is a clean, quick and easy installation causing no disruption to the surrounding area. Our crew will do a full walk through and make sure all porch furniture and planters are removed in the area where the work will be completed. First small penny- size holes are drilled into the concrete and with special equipment, PolyLevel is injected underneath the slab. The Polyurethane foam expands underneath filling all voids in between the soil and the slab. Once all voids are filled the concrete begins to raise back towards its original position. When the porch is leveled the crew will stop the injection and being to fill the small holes. PolyLevel will then being to harden, stabilizing the slab and preventing future settlement. Within 15 minutes the homeowner has full access again to their front porch.
