Front Entry Way Settled in Edison, NJ
Challenge
It's important to check the concrete around your home because it's apart of your homes foundation. If you notice your front porch or back patio area is settling a few inches and now cracking, you should seek a solution before the concrete gets worse causing more issues.
This front porch in Edison, NJ was sinking and settling hurting the value of the home and its curb appeal. The homeowner was afraid the entry way would settle more, effecting the foundation and decided to reach out to concrete professionals for a solution that wouldn't disturb the rest of the area.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems sent Concrete Repair Specialist, Joe Mancini, out to do a full inspection and provide a solution. The goal was to lift and stabilize the concrete to prevent future damage. Joe, recommended our Concrete Raising Solution, PolyLevel. So what is PolyLevel? Well, it's a waterproof, light weight, polyurethane foam. With years of experience we have found that sinking slabs are actually due to weak soil underneath. PolyLevel provides additional support to the soil to keep the slab leveled and stabilized. This polyurethane foam is environmentally friendly and therefore won't cause any issues in the soil.
The installation is quick and easy! Small penny- size holes are drilled into the concrete slab. Using special equipment, PolyLevel is injected underneath the slab, filling all voids and begins to expand, raising the slab. Once our team has the slab level, the injection stops and the foam begins to harden to permanently stabilize the slab. Within just 15 minutes the slab can be walked on or even driven over.
