Concrete Leveling for Local Flemington Restaurant

Challenge

A restaurant in Flemington, NJ had concrete settlement issues in their walkway. The uneven concrete slabs were causing a trip hazard for employees and customers. The sidewalks of the walkway had settled from 1” up to 2”. Upon inspection, Foundation SupportWorks of NJ determined that the restaurant had a total of 13 sunken concrete slabs that would need to be repaired to make the restaurant’s walkway safe to use.

Solution

The restaurant's contractor considered full slab replacement but determined this method would take too long and be too disruptive to business. In addition, full slab replacement greatly exceeded their budget restrictions. Quality 1st Basement Systems installed the PolyLEVEL System to raise the concrete slabs around the restaurant. PolyLEVEL® is a two-part urethane that expands into a rigid foam used to fill voids, stabilize slabs and lift concrete.

Quality 1st Basement Systems returned the settled slabs to a safe and stable position throughout the perimeter of the restaurant. The entire process was completed within one day without interrupting normal business operations. The walkway was able to be used that same time, in time for the dinner rush! The local restaurant was so pleased with the results, they are currently working to contract with Quality 1st Basement Systems on additional restaurants and buildings.

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill in Flemington had uneven concrete slabs on the walkway which presented a safety hazard for customers.

Concrete walkway had settled up to 2" in some places creating an unsafe walkway for customers.

After PolyLEVEL injection, the walkway has been raised to its original level.

This restaurant walkway now has a clean, neat look after PolyLEVEL installation, which cured quickly as to not disrupt any of the restaurant's business.
