Levelling a Sunken Concrete Walkway in Somerdale, NJ
Challenge
In Somerdale, NJ, a homeowner faced a significant issue with their front steps, which had begun to sink and pull away from the house. This created a noticeable gap between the steps and the front door, posing a tripping hazard and detracting from the home’s curb appeal. The homeowner was in search of a trustworthy solution that would address the sinking steps without necessitating a complete teardown of the existing structure. Recognizing the need for a reliable and efficient fix, they contacted us at Quality 1st Basement Systems for assistance.
Solution
Upon receiving the homeowner's inquiry, our Customer Care team swiftly scheduled a home inspection appointment. Our System Design Specialist, John from our Sales Team visited the site to conduct a thorough assessment of the problem areas. After evaluating the situation, the specialist recommended the use of PolyLevel and SealantPro products, designed specifically to address sinking concrete and prevent future settlement issues.
Our production team, led by our talented and innovated foreman, Ramon and skilled installers, arrived at the homeowner’s property ready to implement the solution. Using the PolyLevel foam injection method, along with a steel jack temporarily attached to the slabs, they efficiently raised the concrete steps back to their original position. This process was quick, non-invasive, and minimized disruption to the homeowner’s daily routine.
Once the steps were lifted, the steps were power washed and SealantPro was applied to protect the concrete from the elements, prevent staining, and enhance its lifespan—all while maintaining its natural appearance. By the end of the project, the steps were fully restored and securely aligned with the front door, greatly improving both safety and aesthetics. The homeowner expressed immense relief and satisfaction with the results, affirming our commitment to delivering reliable and long-term solutions.
