Uneven walkway repaired
Challenge
A man in Edison was experiencing slab settlement of his walkway in front of his house. This happens due to the loosening of soil beneath concrete, creating gaps and spaces that the concrete then sinks into. As a result, the concrete walkway was uneven and posed a tripping hazard for those using the walkway. This had become a serious problem and it was only getting worse.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems had the right service for this sinking walkway. PolyLevel injection is the perfect solution for sinking slabs and concrete settlement. PolyLevel treatment uses high-density polymer injections to help raise sinking slabs back to their original positions. The injections are poured through penny-sized holes drilled into the concrete, which are virtually unnoticeable once finished. This treatment fixes the spots that need fixing and does not disturb the rest of the concrete.
This efficient alternative to mudjacking is less destructive and cures in merely fifteen minutes, allowing for almost immediate use of the concrete. The Quality 1st Basement Systems crew used PolyLevel to fix this sidewalk in Edison and raised some of the settled slabs almost four inches! Now the homeowner has an even sidewalk that is safe for residents to walk on and much nicer to look at.
