Sidewalk Restored in South Amboy

Challenge

A South Amboy homeowner was worried that his lifting sidewalk was hazardous as well as unsightly. He knew that the sidewalk had to be fixed, but did not want to use any disruptive techniques like mudjacking or expensive concrete replacement. He called Quality 1st Basement Systems to find out what the concrete leveling options were.

Solution

The Quality 1st Basement Systems team used the PolyLevel System to restore this sidewalk. Unlevel concrete slabs occur when the underlying soil can no longer support the weight of the slabs, often causing lifting and cracking. The PolyLevel System is a modern approach to repairing sinking concrete. Penny-sized holes are drilled into the slabs and PolyLevel injections fill the voids. These injections are made up of high-density polymers that expand as they cure and raise slabs back to their original positions.
