Sinking Concrete Slabs in Warehouse
Challenge
Manager of Warehouse contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems because he noticed the floors inside had started to settle. In some sections of the floor, the slabs had sunk about 2 inches if not more. At first, it was just two or three slabs had started to settle but then it became noticeable that an entire corner of the warehouse had settled as well. The Warehouse manager wanted this fixed right away but didn't want to have to remove and replace the entire floor since it would delay production and cost a lot of money.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems remedied the problem by using the PolyLevel Polyurethane Injection System. The PolyLevel System is a one day installation and will cause minimal disruption to the warehouse since the entire area could be walked on within 15 minutes after installation is finished. The Installation process involves drilling of small quarter size holes into the settling part of each slab. Specialized equipment is used to inject the polyurethane under the concrete, raising it back to its original elevation. With the use of the PolyLevel System, Quality 1st was able to permanently stabilize the entire floor of the warehouse. PolyLevel makes no mess, allowing the crew to quickly clean up, leaving the entire area spotless each time. This was a fast installation process and because of that and the outcome of the installation, the Warehouse Manager was very pleased.
