Crawl Space Encapsulation, Monmouth Beach, NJ

Challenge

For this Monmouth Beach crawl space, there were many signs this space needed the ultimate Quality 1st protection. Every time it rained, water was seeping through the foundation walls, coming up through the dirt floor and even coming through the crawl space openings such as the crawl space vents. Signs of moisture entry and mold growth was discovered upon inspection from System Design Specialist, Ken Peare. Overall this space was far from healthy and it needed a system that would promote healthier air and dry space.

Solution

Ken recommended a Full Crawl Space Encapsulation System. First, we needed to seal the crawl space off from water, moisture, and humidity so we installed 76 ft of CleanSpace along the walls of the crawl space. This strong, durable liner will stop moisture and mold growth, creating a cleaner and healthier space. Next, Jonathan and his team installed 18 Vent Covers to stop the humid drafts and water from coming through. After the vents were covered and the CleanSpace was installed we installed 151 ft of SmartPipe, our french drain system to capture any water seepage and direct it straight to the Smart Sump Pump. Two Smart Sumps and two Ultra Sumps were installed by our team to protect the space. Lastly, to stop the musty odor, we installed two Sedona Dehumidifiers on opposite ends of the crawl space to pump dry air throughout the space. Both are connected to each sump pump to self drain. To create an alternative exit for the water to flow out and away from the foundation, we installed our IceGuard System that lets water exit the top if the discharge were to freeze in the ground.
