Basement Waterproofing in Ridgefield Park, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey was looking to waterproof their basement due to water damage. The most common causes of basement leaks is pressure created by water in the soil surrounding the foundation. During periods of heavy rainfall, the soil can become saturated, which creates hydrostatic pressure. This pressure pushes moisture and water through the floors. The negative effects of a wet basement can ruin the structure of the home, create mold and musty smells that can even travel to the upper levels of the home.
Solution
The homeowner called Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Stephen Ventriglio, was able to help them find a solution. He suggested they install a vapor barrier system, a dehumidifier, and a new sump pump system. Our foreman, Esau Aquino, installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System. This system will stop water and water vapor from coming through the walls and into the basement. CleanSpace also ensures the basement will stay dry and protected. Next, the foreman installed the SuperSump Pump System which is a sump pump with an enclosed lid to keep the water inside the pump. This system will collect and pump out water away from the basement. The SuperSump also has a backup battery that will kick in, just in case of any power outages. The foreman also installed the SaniDry Dehumidifier which will circulate dry air throughout the basement. Any collected water from the dehumidifier is drained to the sump pump. Now, the basement has a bright appearance, while keeping water out.
