Crawl Space Repair in Little Egg Harbor Twp, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Little Egg Harbor Twp, New Jersey noticed their crawl space was becoming damp and attracting musty smells. Their crawl space was also cold and aggravating their allergies. The reason moisture gets into the crawl space is because of the soil surrounding the foundation. This soil becomes saturated during periods of heavy rainfall and creates hydrostatic pressure, which pushes water and moisture through the walls. The homeowner wanted this issue solved right away before the problems in their home, got worse.
Solution
The homeowner called Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Joe Mancini provided a thorough inspection. Joe noticed the moisture in the crawl space and suggested they encapsulate the space to separate it from the earth's elements. Our foreman, Heriberto installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which is made of plastic layers designed to protect the crawl space. It's installed by removing any rocks and debris from the crawl space and leveling uneven surfaces. The plastic liner is waterproof and mold-resistant. It's secured in place with drilled fasteners and spikes. This system also creates a seal against the elements, which blocks any moisture from entering through the dirt. Next, Heriberto installed our SmartSump Pump System and our SaniDry Dehumidifier. With both of these systems installed, the crawl space will be completely protected against water intrusion. the SaniDry will filter out water vapor and dust mites, and the SmartSump will pump any water out and away from the crawl space. Now, the homeowner has a dry and healthy space that they can use for storage!
