Damp Crawl Space Repair in Lebanon, NJ
Challenge
This homeowner in Lebanon, New Jersey noticed their dirt crawl space was damp and developing signs of mold. This can happen when a crawl space is not sealed from the earth's elements. Dirt and soil in a crawl space can cause water vapor to rise into the air and cause problems throughout the home. These negative effects could be, aggravated allergies and asthma, increased energy bills, smelly carpets, mold growth, and rotting wood.
Solution
The homeowner searched online for solutions and came across Quality 1st Basement Systems. Our customer care representative booked them an appointment with our System Design Specialist, JC Gibriano. JC arrived at the home and provided a thorough inspection where he suggested they encapsulate the space. Our foreman began by installing the Drainage Matting to rest directly on the crawl space floor. This will prevent any water from damaging the crawl space floor. We also installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which is thick and durable like a pool liner. This system will stop moisture from passing through the crawl space walls and floors. The installation process is done by removing debris and rocks, and leveling uneven surfaces. The CleanSpace liner is carefully fitted to the crawl space and permanently held in with drilled-in spikes and fasteners. Now, the homeowner has a dry and healthy space for extra storage!
