Resolving Crawl Space Water Seepage In Toms River, NJ
Challenge
Recently we assisted a homeowner in Toms River, NJ, who had been dealing with water seepage in their crawl space for several months. The persistent moisture had led to rising humidity levels, which caused a musty smell throughout the home. Over time, the homeowner also noticed signs of mold growth on the wooden beams and insulation, raising concerns about potential structural damage and poor indoor air quality. Despite efforts to manage the issue with dehumidifiers, the water seepage and humidity persisted, prompting the homeowner to seek a more permanent solution.
Solution
After contacting Quality 1st, our team conducted a thorough inspection of the crawl space to assess the extent of the moisture damage and identify the root causes of the problem. It was determined that improper drainage and inadequate insulation were contributing to the water seepage and high humidity levels. To address these issues, we designed a comprehensive solution that included multiple advanced systems. First, we installed our SilverGlo Insulation Panels on the crawl space walls. These patented panels provided superior thermal insulation while their reflective surface helped redirect moisture away from the area. Next, we installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System, a durable, waterproof liner that sealed the entire crawl space floor and walls. This barrier effectively blocked moisture from entering the space and helped reduce humidity levels, preventing mold growth and further damage to the home’s foundation. Recognizing the importance of managing water during heavy rainfall, we also installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. This high-capacity sump pump system included three pumps, ensuring that the crawl space remained dry even during heavy downpours or power outages. To further combat the humidity, we added our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. This powerful, energy-efficient dehumidifier removed up to 95 pints of water per day, ensuring optimal moisture control and improving the air quality in the home. With its advanced filtration system, it also captured dust and allergens, providing cleaner air and reducing the chances of mold and mildew growth. Lastly, to prevent any freezing or clogging issues during winter months, we installed the IceGuard Discharge Line System.
With the combined effectiveness of our high-performance systems, the crawl space was fully restored to a healthy, dry condition. The homeowner no longer had to worry about water seepage or moisture-related damage, and the home was more energy-efficient and inviting!
