Eliminating Damp Conditions In Cedar Grove, NJ
Challenge
Recently we assisted a homeowner in Cedar Grove, NJ, who had been facing increasingly damp conditions in their crawl space, especially during heavy rainfall. The constant exposure to moisture created an environment ripe for mold and mildew growth, leading to a musty smell that was starting to infiltrate the living areas of the home. The increased humidity was also contributing to higher energy costs, as the damp air made the home harder to heat and cool. Concerned about the long-term effects of the moisture, including potential structural damage and poor indoor air quality, the homeowner contacted Quality 1st for a comprehensive solution to restore their crawl space.
Solution
Upon inspection, our System Design Specialist Will recommended a multi-step solution to address the moisture problem. Then our foreman Heriberto and his crew began by installing our specially patented Drainage Matting, which allowed water to flow freely away from the crawl space, preventing water accumulation and reducing the risk of flooding. To further combat moisture, the crew also added our SilverGlo Insulation Panels, which not only provided superior thermal insulation but also acted as a moisture barrier to keep the space dry. Finally, our team installed our mold-resistant CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System, a durable, waterproof liner that sealed the crawl space from any moisture entering through the walls or floor. With these systems in place, the crawl space was completely transformed into a dry, stable, and healthy environment, effectively eliminating the homeowner’s moisture issues and improving the overall comfort and energy efficiency of their home!
